ISRO conducts successful test launch of scramjet engine


29 Aug, The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for the first time has
successfully conducted the Scramjet (or Supersonic Combusting ramjet) engine test.
The scramjet engine was test launched on board of RH 560 sounding rocket. The
scramjet engine works on the Air-breathing Propulsion System.
Zee Entertainment Enterprises has appointed Punit Misra as Chief Executive Officer
(CEO) for its domestic broadcast business. Earlier Misra was Executive DirectorSales and Customer Development at Hindustan Unilever and joined HUL as a
management trainee in 1996.

Qatar's based Doha Bank has opened a branch, the Keralas Chief Minister Pinarayi
Vijayan inaugurated the branch. The Bank also held an investors conference on
Kerala-Qatar Investment Opportunities, which saw a participation of major investors

Pakistan is going to host the 19th SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional

Mahindra unveils DiGiSENSE platform to track vehicle information

Automobile manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (M&M) has introduced


DiGiSENSE, a cloud based technology solution to track vehicle information in real
time. With this, Mahindra has become the first OEM (original equipment
manufacturer) in India to integrate its product line-up onto a cloud-based technology
platform.
20 Aug, Badminton player P V Sindhu made history by being youngest Indian
sportsperson to win a medal at the quadrennial Olympics. Sindhu won the Silver
medal in womens singles badminton event at Rio Olympics 2016. Sindhu is the
fourth Indian to win a silver at the Olympics after shooters Rajyavardhan Singh
Rathore (2004, Athens) and Vijay Kumar (2012, London) and wrestler Sushil Kumar
(2012, London).

Sakshi Malik had won bronze medal in wrestling at 2016 Rio Olympics in the 58 kg
category. She had created history by becoming first women from India to win
Olympics medal in wrestling.
The International Kabaddi Federation (IKF) has announced that 2016 Kabaddi World

Rejuvenation Sushri Uma Bharti launched various Projects on the Bank of Ganga
worth Rs. 560 crore under Namami Gange programme at Ganga Barrage in Kanpur.
Earlier in July this year 231 projects were launched at various places in the states of
Uttrakhand, UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, West-Bengal, Delhi and Haryana and construction
of 11 Ghats and two crematoria launched in Kanpur under Namami Gange
programme.

22 aug, India and Germany signed an agreement that aims to foster conditions that
