AN ORDINANCE AMENDING REGULATION ORDINANCE NO. 2013-329
"AN ORDINANCE ENACTING THE TOURISM CODE OF JLOILO CITY", BY
INSERTING ADDITIONAL WORDINGS TO SECTION 4 OF ARTICLE IV;
INSERTING NEW SECTION L'I BETWEEN SECTION 6 (b) AND SECTION 6
(c) OF ARTICLE IV; AND INSERTING NEW PARAGRAPH G) IN BETWEEN
PARGRAPH (i) AND PARAGRAPH G) TO SECTION I OF ARTICLE XI

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Panlungsod enacted the Tourism Code of Iloilo City in order to
provide measures and guidance in the development and promotion of the tourism industry in the City;

WHEREAS, due to manifest rapid changes and development, there is a necessity to amend
some provisions of the Code to harmonize with the effects of the changes.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Iloilo City, that:

Section 1. - Section 4 of Article IV of the Tourism Code of lloilo City, is hereby amended to
read, as follows:
"Secti<Jn 4. -- ll<Ji/o City (-.ultural Heritage {,'onservation (~'ouncil. - There is
Jiereby created a body t<J be known as the Jloilo (~it}' (.'ultural Heritage {,'onservation
(.'ouncil (!(~(~HCC) f<J he organized within 30 days.from approval ofthis ordinance and
to be composed of the_fi_)/lowing persons appointed by the City Ma_vor:
Chairperson who shall be an official of the Cit_v of lloil<J, or n<J,- -n-official who
will serve on a voluntary basis;
Vice (_'hairperson who represents the association o_f architects in the City of
Jloilo; and,
Nine(9) other members prt;ferably from the arts and culture community.

The City Mavor mav appoint other members or increase its membership as
mav be deemed necessary.
Section 2. - Section 6 and Section 6 (d) shall be known as Section 6(d) and Section 6 (e),
respectively and a new Section 6 shall be inserted to read, as follows:

Section 6 . - The view of the historical building or structure, landmarks and

historical markings shall at all times be free from obstruction of anv object, such as,
but not limited to merchandise tor sale or display purposes, in such a manner that
will obstruct or offend the view or aesthetic value and cultural integri!v of such
historlcal, cultural, heritage structures or markers.
Section 3. - Paragraph GJ, (k) shall be known as paragraph (k), (I) and a new paragraph (j)
shall be inserted to read as follo\vs:

Department of Tourism or finding their tour guide guiln of more than one of any of
the acts enumerated below:

Failure to complv with the requirements as to the compulsorv wearing of
identification cards.

Section 4. - All ordinances, resolution, rules and regulations inconsistent with this ordinance
are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.
Section 5. - This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its approval.
