Inventory Management System And Production

Introduction :
Inventory management software is a computer-based system for tracking
inventory levels, orders, sales and deliveries. It can also be used in the
manufacturing industry to create a work order, bill of materials and other
production-related documents. Companies use inventory management
software to avoid product overstock and outages. It is a tool for organizing
inventory data that before was generally stored in hard-copy form or in
spreadsheets.
In Our Project we are taking a part of inventory ie: Bill of Material
creation[BOM].BOM Process described here as Master ,Transaction, Reports.
In this process we are processing item master creation ,BOM creation
,Product assembling and Product development Process are take place here.
Order management
Should inventory reach a specific threshold, a company's inventory
management system can be programmed to tell managers to reorder that
product. This helps companies avoid running out of products or tying up too
much capital in inventory.
Service management
Companies that are primarily service-oriented rather than product-oriented
can use inventory management software to track the cost of the materials
they use to provide services, such as cleaning supplies. This way, they can
attach prices to their services that reflect the total cost of performing them.
Product identification
Barcodes are often the means whereby data on products and orders is
inputted into inventory management software. A barcode reader is used to
read barcodes and look up information on the products they
represent.Modern inventory software programs may use QR codes or NFC
tags to identify inventory items and smartphones as scanners.[citation
needed] This method provides an option for small businesses to track

inventory using barcode scanning without a need to purchase expensive

scanning hardware.[citation needed]

2.1 EXISTING SYSTEM

Inventory data that before was generally stored in hard-copy form or in

spreadsheets
Stock Management is difficult in previous Method(SpreadSheets)
Spares Reduction and stock management is difficult to monitor
System resources cannot be freed frequently based on the parameters.
Administrator is not notified regarding any missing of goods

2.2 PROPOSED SYSTEM

With the aid of restricted user rights.

This can speed up the inventory management process and save managers time.
Tracking where products are stocked
companies can control inventory levels and maximize the use of warehouse space.
tracking inventory in real time is very important.
One is real-time inventory monitoring. A single change can replicate itself companywide instantaneously.
As a result, businesses can have greater confidence in the accuracy of the information
in the system,

3.2 Input Design

Input specifications describe the manner in which data enter
the system for processing. Input design features will ensure the reliability of the
systems and produce results from accurate data, or thus can be
result in the production of erroneous information. The input design also
determines whenever the user can interact efficiently with this system
The five objectives of input design are:

Controlling the amount of input

Avoiding delay

Avoiding error in data

Avoiding extra steps

Keeping the process simple

3.3 Database Design

The database design is a must for any application developed especially more for the
data store projects. Since the chatting method involves storing the message in the table and
produced to the sender and receiver, proper handling of the table is a must.
In the project, login table is designed to be unique in accepting the username and the
length of the username and password should be greater than zero
The complete listing of the tables and their fields are provided in the annexure under the
title Table Structure.

3.4 Output Design

One of the most important factors of an information system for the user is the
output the system produces. Without the quality of the output, the entire system may appear
unnecessary that will make us avoid using it possibly causing it to fail. Designing the output
should process the in an organized well throughout the manner. The right output must be
developed while ensuring that each output element is designed so that people will find the
system easy to use effectively.
The term output applying to information produced by an information system whether
printed or displayed while designing the output we should identify the specific output that is
needed to information requirements select a method to present the formation and create a
document report or other formats that contains produced by the system.
Types of output:
Whether the output is formatted report or a simple listing of the contents of a file, a computer
process will produce the output.

Modules :
Master :
1) ItemMaster
An item master is a record that lists key information about an inventory item. This
information may include the description, unit of measure, weight, dimensions,
ordering quantity, and so forth for an item.
2)EngineerMaster
Engineer or Service Person Creation take place here
3)Bill Of Material
Creating bill of material for particular itemcode along with spare codes
Transaction:
1)JobOrder Issue Creation
JobOrderissue - ie: Spare reduction from Stock and reserving stock for particular
or required product.Creation Document Number for job order issue
2)Job Order Receipt

Document Number for job order Receipt will generate here
3)Serialnumber Generation
After Joborder receipt serialnumber generation will place here for required
quantity
4)Stock Checking
After Stock and Serialnumber Process we can check the stock of corresponding
finished goods
Reports
