About Us:Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlingas Temple is considered one of the most

important places of pilgrimage because it is one of the Jyotirlingas.
The Temple is situated in the holy city of Kashi in Uttar Pradesh.
Every year, thousands of devotees visit the place in quest to attain
Moksha. The Temple also has a mention in Skanda Purana, Shiva
Purana, Upanishads and in the Vedas.
There are hundreds of Temples in Kashi and each has its own story
of significance. There are total of 84 ghats in the banks of the river. It
is also believed that if one of going to visit the Jyotirlinga at Kashi,
then it is equivalent to visiting all the remaining 11 Jyotirlingas.
Kashi is also considered to be the most holy city and anyone who
lives in the city said to eventually attain Moksha. Sri Adi
Shankaracharya, Ramakrishna Paramahansa, Swami Vivekananda,
Swami Dayanand Saraswati and Gurunanak, all have visited Kashi
Vishvanath Temple.

General Information:Varanasi is well connected to both air and railways. The

nearest airport to the city is Babatpur which is 22 km from
Varanasi and is directly connected to cities like Delhi,
Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Agra, Bhubaneswar, and
Lucknow. The nearest Railway Station is Varanasi
Junction or the Mughal Sarai Junction.
The official timings of the temple are from 2.30AM to
11.00PM. The general darshan timings are 4 AM to 11 AM,
12 PM to 7 PM, and from 8:30 PM to 9 PM. After 9.00 PM, it
is not allowed to see the deity outside the sanctum.
It is believed that if you have taken the pilgrimage of
Kashi and Rameshvaram, it will lead to complete Moksha
and enlightenment.

Visitor Information:Footwear is not allowed inside the temple premises and you
need to remove them before entering the gates. Try and keep
the Temple premises clean and avoid spreading litter.
There is no entry fee in the Temple for general Darshan.
However, for special Aarti and special entry, you could get the
ticket to avoid rush.
Photography is not allowed inside the temple so dont take
your cameras and mobile phones inside.
Dont throw away the Prasad given to you at the temple.
Keep the ghats clean.
Dont wear too revealing clothes. Girls should refrain
themselves from wearing short skirts.
You might come across monkeys inside the temple, so watch
out for your belongings.

Best Time to Visit:The best season to visit Varanasi is between the months of
October The temperature remains really nice and hovers
between 5-15 degrees Celsius. The pleasant weather will
ensure that you will have a good time sightseeing and
enjoying your tour.
