Course Description
The IGCSE English First Language (EFL) and Literature (Lit) Course is a two-year program
design to improve students reading, writing and speaking fluency with the English Language. It
exposes students to a wide variety of text types and develops their ability to write in a wide variety
of formats such as essays, letters, dialogues, speech transcripts, and news reports. Students are
often asked to read a short piece of text and reply in such a way that demonstrates both reading
comprehension and coherent writing skills. They will also read classic poems and books and show
understanding of deeper themes. Over the course of the program students will develop their
vocabulary, grammar and speaking, and group work skills.
