3 Significance of the Study

To 4Js Mini Grocery Store
This Inventory system that the proponents of the study develops will surely help
the 4Js Mini Grocery Store to check and monitor the stocks every now and then,
as well as by giving them a light work using this system.
To the owner
The proposed system will help the owner of the 4Js Mini Grocery greatly since it
will help them organize and monitor product stocks and sales.
1. To the costumer
The customers of 4Js mini grocery store will benefit the most because since the
products stored in the systems database is carefully organized and priced
accordingly, the products selection is consistent and up to date.
To the STI
The proponents of the study come from STI college of sta. maria, the institution
will gain popularity as one of the competitive IT school in the nation since they
produce some of the most competitive and professionally oriented individuals in
the industry.
To the proponents of the study
The proponents of the study will gain real time experience on how to conduct
case study, and how the industry develop a particular system in a professional
and controlled manner. This will armed them the knowledge and skills needed for
them to become a competitive system developers and programmers.

2. To the future researchers

since the problems of the previous inventory system is been resolved by the
proposed system, the future researchers decreases their burden and try to figure

out on how they refined the proposed system to make it more efficient even more
for the benefit of the customers and its owner.

3.0 Data Gathering, Procedures and Output

The proponents of the study conducts a series of interviews and survey to gather critical
information needed of them to develop the inventory system for the 4Js mini grocery store
Below are the guide questions asked to Ms. Jann Marie De Castro Sapinoso
1. What are your inventory system limitations?
2. What is the main problem of your inventory system?
3. Is there a feature within your inventory system that alerts user if inventory levels are
in the ground or ceiling?
4. Who manages your inventory system?
5. Does your inventory system have a log in system for security purpose?
6. Does your system would read barcodes?
The proposed system developed by the proponents of the study is going to be use and
maintained by its owner Ms. Sapinoso.
According to Ms. Sapinoso, the current system that they used have some limitations mainly, the
inventory system sometimes does not correspond when trying to delete some items. There is a
feature that tells the users the inventory levels but it only indicates the ground's stock not the
ceiling stock and it does not have any security features that will ensure the integrity of the items
in the inventory. There are no log in function for security purposes instead it will direct to the
inventory systems home page. The system will not read barcodes because it lacks barcode
scanners for automatic input of the product to the inventory database.
In addition for gathering data and information, the proponents of the study also conducts
research for them to know the basics of inventory system.

Library Research
-

The proponents conduct a research in the library to gather information about the
system that they will develop and for their documentation. In the library there has
more ideas in thesis books of the other STI student, this books helps the

proponents to think an idea for their documentation paper and system. It may be
able to help the proponents to focus for the topic by discussing issues that they
did not occur at first sight.
Internet Research
-

The proponents conduct a research in the internet to get some information to

easy identify if the system have some error. The internet allows accessing so
much information that you can be easily overwhelmed.

After gathering necessary data and information, the proponents of the study come up with a
solution to provide reliable and efficient inventory system for 4Js Mini Grocery Store.
