Learning Experiences:
1. Introduction: (How will I engage the learners?)

5 mins

20 mins

I will be engaging the learners by playing a quick game of silent ball,

to get them focused and quiet before the lesson starts.
OR
Getting them to stand up, and shake out their legs are arms before
the lesson begins to and relax before the lesson begins.

2.
Sequence of learning experiences: (What will you do to help the
students achieve the
learning objectives? What tasks and activities will the students be
involved in to help
achieve the learning objectives?)
We will be watching a video clip from behind the news called
Kids in syria.
I will then begin to ask the discussion questions for the topic
(max 5) which are;
-Describe the city of Aleppo in Syria.
Syrias largest city, which has been destroyed by war. It has no
power or water and many
of the buildings have turned to rubble.
-how long has the war been going on?
5 years
-What happened to Abbas?
He was injured when a missile hit his home, which killed some of
his family members.
-where does Hamsa and his family live now?
Damacus, Syrias capital city
-How many people left Syria as refugees?
2.8 Million?
3.8 Million?
4.8Million?
-How many Syrians does the United Nations say need help with
things like food, water
and education?
13.5 million children that need help
We will then watch the video again to refresh
The kids will then be given worksheets to answer which has the
discussion questions on.
Once done, I will be asking the questions again and ask students
to read out their
answers.

2. Lesson conclusion: (How will you summarise the learning and relate it
to the lesson objectives?)
I will give the student 30 seconds to think about their lives
compared to the kids in Syria
and choose students to describe how their lives are different to
the kids in Syria, example;
my life is different to the kids in Syria because; I get to go to
school every day. I get to play
outside without being scared of bombs, etc.

Lesson Evaluation:
(Reflect on the lesson. What worked? What did not work? What would you change? Why?)
