ABOUT US
VIT University (under section 3 of the UGC act 1956) was founded
in 1984.It was established with the aim of providing quality higher
education on par with international standards as a self-financing
institution called the Vellore Engineering College. The institute was
declared as a University in recognition of its academic excellence
by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of
India in 2001. The University has established state-of-the art
infrastructure for both academic and extra-curricular activities. VIT
today comprises of eleven constituent schools and a few
interdisciplinary research centers offering undergraduate,
postgraduate and research programmes in various disciplines. VIT
has organized a number of International and National conferences
in the recent past utilizing its awesome facilities. Recently VIT has
also been ranked to be the No:1 private engineering institution by
MHRD, India. VIT is also ranked as No.1 among academic
institutions in India in publishing 2233 research publications in
2015 with an overall h index of 53. The University has been
recently re-accredited for the third cycle by NAAC. VIT has signed
Memorandum of Understanding with many institutions within
India and abroad including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, UK
and USA. Such understanding is aimed towards exchange of faculty
and students, joint academic programmes involving courses as
well as research and improvement of laboratory and library
facilities. The university offers 20 Undergraduate, 29 Postgraduate,
3 integrated programmes and various Research programmes.

OBJECTIVES OF THE WORKSHOP

The workshop provides hands on experience to Data

Analysis using SPSS and SEM using AMOS and its graphical
interactive path modeling tools. The workshop is highly
interactive with major focus on statistical techniques,
hands on practices and usage of software tools and
techniques. This program is designed for corporates,
faculty members and research scholars in enhancing their
knowledge in research.

B. Ravikumar, is working as Assistant Professor (Senior) in

Department of Technology Management, VIT University.
He has Master of Philosophy in Statistics and MBA in
Finance. He has eleven years of experience in academics.
He is one of the mentors for SPSS software, Bangalore. He
is a trainer and consultant in Statistics domain and has
trained many scholars in the subject of Research
Methodology and Statistical Packages such as SPSS, R
programming and AMOS. He has published twelve research
papers in national and international journals of repute. His
areas of interests are Applied Statistics, Data Analytics,
Mediation Analysis, Moderation Analysis and Structural
Equation Modeling (SEM). He has conducted five National
Workshops on Advanced Data Analysis and Structural
Equation Modeling using SPSS AMOS at VIT University in
association with SPSS, Bangalore. He has been a resource
person for several workshops and FDP programmes, both

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

The School of Mechanical Engineering (SMEC) is one of the
oldest Schools of VIT. The School offers 4 undergraduate
programs in Mechanical, Production & Industrial
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with specialization in
Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with
specialization in Automotive Engineering. The school also
offers various Management courses, 4 postgraduate
programs such as CAD/CAM, Automotive Engineering,
Mechatronics and Manufacturing Engineering. It also offers
M.S (by Research) and PhD programs. Three of the
Bachelors Degree Programmes offered by the School, B.
Tech. Mechanical Engineering, B. Tech. Mechanical with
specialization in Automotive Engineering and B. Tech.
Mechanical with specialization in Energy Engineering are
accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of
ABET. The faculty members of the schools are actively
involved in executing a number of R&D and consultancy
projects received from several government funding
agencies such as DST, DRDO, MNRE, CSIR, CVRDE, IE,
AR&DB, BRNS, ISRO, UGC, NRB, AICTE etc.
ABOUT DEPARTMENT OF TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT
This department offers management courses to various
UG/PG students of the University. The department is
instrumental in offering a variety of elective courses in all
functional areas of management. A team of well qualified
faculty members with rich industrial and academic
experiences, this department is a place which fosters
innovation and critical thinking.

RESOURCE PERSONS
Dr. Pulidindi Venu Gopal , Associate Professor & Head,
Department of Technology Management, has over a
decade of teaching and research experience. An FDP from
IIM A and a PhD in Marketing, various employers have
recognized him as a best executive, teacher and
researcher. He has published more than 40 papers,
presented more than 70 papers at various
international/national conferences and is also a resource
person for various workshops in and outside VIT. He is also
serving as an editor for few reputed journals. His area of
interest includes Marketing Management, Consumer
Behaviour, Marketing Research etc. His area of expertise
includes Data analytics using SPSS, Path analysis and
modeling using AMOS.
Dr. Suraj Kushe Shekhar, Assistant Professor (Sr.) is a B
Tech, MBA. He completed his PhD under Senior Research
Fellowship (SRF) of the UGC. He has presented 9 papers at
various national/international conferences including IIMs
(A,B,C,I & K) and has also published 26 research articles in
various national/international journals. His work has
appeared in the publications of Bucharest Academy of
Economic Studies, Hyperion University of Bucharest,
Inderscience Publishers, Indore Management Journal, a
peer reviewed publication of IIM Indore, Indian Police
Journal, published by Bureau of Police Research and
Development, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India etc.
His area of expertise includes Multivariate analysis using
SPSS, Path modeling using AMOS & LISREL, Project Life
Cycle Management using PLM Softwares etc.
