In my opinion, euthanasia should become legal in Romania as far as the approval

has been given by the person in question or by his family or tutors in the case he
is unable to take such a decision. Moreover the application of euthanasia should
only take place in the cases of patients that suffer from a condition that cannot
be treated or is terminally ill.
First of all, as many proponents of euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide
suggest, the person who suffers from terminally illness should have the right to
end his suffering with a quick, digniffied and compassionate death. The right to
die fits in the same category as the right to procreation, marriage or refusal or
termination of life-saving medical treatment.
On the other hand, the legalization situation of euthanasia may degenerate in
such way that it will target the poor and disabled and create incentives for
insurance companies to terminate lives in order to save money.
In conclusion, I still stick to my initial statement which approves the legalization
of euthanasia of terminally ill people in Romania as far as the approval for such
an act has been granted by the person in question or by its tutors or family
members. However, before approving such a law, the legal system should take
into account the numerous exploatations that may occur as a result of its
application and try to diminish them as much as possible.
