Learning outcomes British Curriculum: By the end of the lesson students will be able
to understand the importance of interpretation and level of analysis in social studies
subjects.

Planned differentiation activities:

Success Criteria: giving a sample on mind-mapping technique and then involve them in the teachers mind-mapping of a
history related terminology.
Starter (5-10 minutes):
Teacher/Student Led Activities
Brain storm on the word History and to have a first-hand idea why history is
different for everybody.
Main Activity (20-30 minutes):
Teacher/Student Led Activities
Define history and identify areas involved under history.
Compare and contrast different ages in history.
Example 1: Interpret changes in human trade over the years.
Plenary (5-10 minutes):
Summarizing with clue words/sentences the topic for long-term student
learning.

Exceeding Expectations
If the students have an idea about various
ages and know the basic difference among
each of them.
Meeting Expectations
If the students are able to get to the words
like reformation, revolution and evolution.
Working Towards Expectations
If the students are able to understand and do
mind-mapping for another history related
terminology or a phrase.
