C9600/C9800/ES3640 Error Codes

Rev.1 2005-5-24 Based on Status handler Rev.31

[Note]
The service calls that CU firmware displays on the operator panel (LCD) are color-coded in "S/C No." column as follows
(1) CU firmware or CPU detected a CU board related physical problem.
(2) CU firmware detected an anomaly in a program or data in nonvolatile media connected to CU board (ROM,FLASH memory,HDD) or in an optional board.
(3) CU firmware detected an anomaly in behavior in PU (including a violation of communication protocol between CU and PU). Where the cause exists (in CU or PU?) is not known.
(4) CU(CPU or CU firmware itself) detected an abnormal behavior of CU firmware. (It is possible that the root cause is a problem of the CU board.)
(5) PU firm detected a physical problem in mechanism or PU board and CU displays S/C No. according to the problem.
(6) Above (5) is happening and a user can fix the error.
When a S/C No. in red background column is reported, make sure you record the conditions when it happened (sent data, CU/PU firmware versions, operation and etc.) and also
print the MenuMap. The firmware problems in red column.
*1 S.C. = LCD displays a service call. P.O. = A message appears and prompts a user POW ON.
*2 When it happened, confirm it can be reproduced. After rebooting, operate the printer in the same way that caused the problem, and check if the same service call message appears.
*3 This service call may happen only at factory shipping.
