SIP MANUAL

Here is the manual containing some rates, in order to standardize the SIP costing and evaluation
process. This standardization may ease the DCMAS for uniform approach and improved quality towards
SIP. Fare/carriage charges may be added as per situation of the area to be decided by the individual.
A. Boundary Wall:
1. Minimum height from outside = 8 foot, Min height from inside =5 foot.
2. Cost of new B.W construction having 8 foot height = 3000 x running foot length of that wall.
3. To raise the existing B.W for, say 3 feet, formula will be = 3 x running feet of length x 100.
4. For broken B.W (no new bricks are to be purchased) so to raise 3 foot =>3 x running foot length x 50.
5. If there is a crack in the wall then repairing cost formula will be = 50 Rupees/ square foot of damaged
area.
6. If wall is complete and only cemented plaster is required, it will cost= 25 Rupees/ square foot.
7. For retaining wall, cost = normal cost x 1.5.
8. Filling rates behind the wall = may be guessed for unit volume i.e. 1 (meter/foot) cube.
B. Class room:
1. No of students per class room= 40
2. Approved size = 25*16 foot, cost = .8 million ( variation 20 % ).
3. Cemented floor repair = 25 Rupees /square foot.
4. Cemented roof repair = 25 Rupees/ square foot.
5. Cemented floor repair with DPC = 50 Rupees /square foot.
6. Aluminum sheet of standard 13*4 foot= may be included.
7. Glass sheet of standard/familiar dimensions (1*1 or 4*4) foot = may be included.
8. Window frame (iron) of standard dimensions e.g. (4*4) foot= may be included.
C. Group wash room:
1. Reference no of Students for each additional group latrine =100.
2. Total cost of group latrine =150,000.
3. For single washroom, Structure cost=25000, installations (commode, tape, wash basin, flush tank)
=25000, soakage pit/gutter=25000.
4. Some approximate individual rates (for repairing estimates) are as below:
a. Wash basin =1800-2500-3500 (three types) average 2500-3000.
b. Indian commode= 900-1000.
c. Flush cistern=1300.

D. Water supply:
1. Approximate cost of hand pump construction= 100000.
2. Gl (iron) pipe including fitting cost = Rs. 100/ft.
3. HDPE (plastic) pipe including fitting cost = Rs. 20/ft.
4. Cost for the development of water source (where required) = Rs. 10, 000.
5. Water tank (plastic blue) = (150 -200-500) gallon = (4500-5800-13500) correspondingly.
6. Max cost of water tank (cemented) e.g. for higher secondary etc. = Rs. 35000.
7. Some individual approximate rates (for repairing estimates) are:
a. Plastic pipe =6-10-15 per foot (three types) average = 10/foot.
b. Iron pipe= 930 rupees/20 foot of length.
c. Steel Tap=250-350. Average =300.
d. Standard (horse powers) motor rates = 15000 (good quality).
e. Average per day wages of electrician = 1000 Rupees approximately.
E. Electricity:
1. No of fans, lights, electric boards in each room= 2 fans and 2 lights, 1 electric board for each room.
2. For internal electrification approximate total cost including fans and lighting arrangement =
Rs. 30,000/room.
3. Whereas some approximate individual rates required for individual estimations are,
a. Ceiling fan (Royal fan) = 2650-3600 (based on wing size) .
b. Energy savor (Philips) =200-210.
c. Tube light (Philips) =450. (not preferred to use)
d. Electric board (2 switch+ 2 socket +fan dimmer) = 210.
e. Electric wire rates per unit foot or meter = may be included.
f. Wapda standard cost for meter installation= may be included.
g. Average per day wages of plumber= 1000 Rupees approximately.
