Mr. Waddah Salah ,

I am a Senior Student in Economics at American University of Beirut. I wish to apply
for the Strategy& Full time consultancy position for the Class of 2017. I am confident
that Strategy& has the suitable culture for my skills and potentials to nurture and
develop for me to excel as a strategic, critical, and analytic consultant. After hearing
about your recruitment for the position from Mrs. Maryam Ghandour, from AUBS
Career Services Office, as well as from the AUB Consulting Club which I happen to
be a member of, I certainly had to apply.
First things first, I can easily communicate in English, and Arabic, written and oral.
More generally, I am a very idealistic team member. I work on what matters to me
till the very last bit. In a more obvious sense, I favor completeness and perfection in
most, if not all what I do. During high school, I became the first founder ever of a
club, The Economic Equality Club. The Club handled bake-sales and fundraising
events for providing the needy as well as for the sake of developing an entire
library. I consider myself a leader, personally and on team-basis. I lead groups
efficiently into functional categories which was certainly seen in two distinctive
events in my academic path. The first would be winning the Best Delegate Award at
Houssam Eddine Hariri High School Model United Nations. The second , and
factoring in my capacity to work with high efficiency in pressure, would be my
position as a Writer, Advertiser, and Data Organizer at the AUB Writing Center which
taught me great things about Time Management, Responsibility, and guiding groups
and individuals.
In my first semester at American University of Beirut, my father passed away. This
incident was very heavy, academically-speaking. I, however, chose to work very
hard. I got a low grade average in my first semester. But, across my second
semester and onwards, I attained remarkable grades while attaining deans Honor
List consecutively for the attainment of high average above 85/100. This found its
way to me to teach a very fundamental lesson. Every one of us have Cancer, and
this does not include physical Cancer. The key is in winning over the obstacle and
excelling in whatever comes afterwards. This is success in the most literal sense.
