VISION - The vision of the Department of Criminology is to produce a high quality
graduates who are professionally competent in the field of Criminal Justice
System.
MISSION The mission of the Department of Criminology is to provide skillful
graduates in terms of law enforcement, criminal detection, and high-tech
Technology that utilized to the modern of Criminal investigation.
GOALS

1. To prepare the student in the modern approach of Criminal detection and


investigation.
2. To provide a broad understanding of Criminal Justice System, jail management,
correctional.
3. To provide a good leadership to the student for their choosing career in the field
of criminal science.

III. Course Objectives


1. Know the importance, purpose, nature and scope of criminology as a field of
interest
2. Define criminology, crime, criminal, law, criminal law and other important
concepts in understanding criminology.
3. Trace the development criminology by discussing the theories of crime causation.
4. Recognize the contribution of the pioneers of criminology regarding the explanation
of crime causation.
5. Explain the criminal formula or the birth of crime.
6. Understand the Philippine criminal law and to know about R.A 6506.
.
IV. Course Description
This course presents an overview of the different schools of thought in criminology;
theories that explain criminal behavior; techniques for measuring the characteristics of
criminals, crime, and victims; the interrelatedness of theory, policy, and practice in the criminal
justice system; and current issues and studies in criminology.
