ECONOMIC HIGHSCHOOL ARAD

Economic Highschool of Arad is an institution that continues an old tradition of the
trade education in the west side of Romania.
14.06.1885: The Commercial Highschool Arad is inaugurated;
1886: The Commercial Highschool Arad becomes The Commercial Academy of Arad;
1900: courses at the Superior Commercial School of Arad begin;
1937: The Theoretical Secondary School Iosif Vulcan Arad becomes The Commercial
Highschool for Boys of Arad
1948: The Secondary Technological School Of Economic Administration is founded
1950: The Secondary Technological School Of Economic Administration becomes The
Secondary Technological Commerce School for Boys of Arad
1955: The Secondary Technological Commerce School for Boys of Arad becomes The
Secondary Technological Trading School, 2 years courses; The Commercial Study
institution becomes The Commercial Vocational School of Arad;
1966: The Economic Highschool of Arad is founded;
1974: The Catering and Industrial Highschool is founded within the Commercial
Vocational School;
1977: The Economic Highschool and The Commercial Vocational School join together and
form the Administrative Law and Economic Highschool, Arad;
1994: The Administrative-Economic Vocational School is founded;
2000: the school becomes the Economic Highschool of Arad

In Economic Highschool of Arad, the education system is organized for technological
branch, profile services, with the following forms:
Highschool full time courses:
First stage
Second stage
Highschool night courses:

Highschool night courses, reduced frequency.
Art and Vocational School, level 1.
Completion year, level 2.
Highschool full time courses, progressive route, level 3.
Adults training courses.

The training firm is an innovating teaching method, oriented towards practice. It is the
model of a company in which the students simulate the activities of a real company.
JUVENTUTE THE SCHOOL MAGAZINE
The first edition of Juventute magazine appeared in 1982. Between 1982 and 1995 its
publishing stopped but from 1995 the magazine appears constantly in 2 or 3 editions a
year.

Admission in the first year according to the results from the secondary
school

The qualification selection is made in the second stage (11 th grade),

to the choices and the results obtained in the first two years of
highschool

4 years for highschool full time courses,

5 years for highschool night courses,

From 14 years for highschool full time courses,

From 18 years for highschool night courses


Studies authentication:

The graduates of the first stage: a graduation certificate for 10 grades

2 years, level 1 in professional qualification


1 year, level 2 in professional qualification, completion year

Specific for the technological branch, services profile, economic, administrative,
tourism fields;
Qualifications: technician in economical activities, administrative technician,
tourism technician;
Optional packages were established for each specialization and study group, so
that each student would be given the possibility to choose according to his/her
own interests and availability.

All teaching staff is qualified
Most of the teaching staff graduated masters degrees, post-graduated courses
and there are candidates for a doctors degree and even a Doctor of Philosophy.
Some teachers took part in the elaboration of the national curriculum for
highschool, they are text-book authors, members of the National Subjects
Committees, methodologists and in charge of various debating societies.

With great potential and great results: with a 99,58% rate of baccalaureate
promotion (over 50% of the grades between 9 and 10).

cheerleaders, partnerships with local cultural institutions,
Sport activities: football team, basketball team, handball team, athletics that
participate every year in many competitions and get trophies and valuable prizes.
Many contests that aim to a complete and complex training.
Campaigns to prevent drug-addiction, violence, abortion and ecological campaigns
