8. You will see a message confirming that 3CXPhone for Windows has been installed. It will
ask you to double click on the attachment you received in your 3CX Welcome Email. This
email was sent to you when your extension was created. If you cannot find it, ask your

administratortoresendit.

9. In your inbox you will find an email with the subject Welcome to 3CX Phone System for
Windows. The 3CX Welcome Email has a provisioning fileattachedtoit.Click
Download

tosavetheattachmenttoyourcomputer.
10. Double click the attachment. 3CXPhone will configure itself to your extension using the
information contained in the email attachment. Once provisioning is completed you will see
the
Available status on the left upper corner and
On Hook in thedialscreen.Youcannow
startmakingcalls.

Note:
After provisioninghascompleted,dependingonthesettings,configuredforyourextensionon
3CXPhoneSystem,your3CXPhonewillstartinoneoftwomodes:

CTI
mode
:RemotelycontrolyourIPPhonefromyourcomputer,or
Softphonemode:Makeandreceivecallsonyourcomputer.

To change between the two modes click the icons highlighted in the imagesaboveandchoosethe

Whatis3CXPhoneforAndroid?
3CXPhone for Android is a SoftphoneclientthatyoucanusetomakeandreceiveVoIPphonecalls
on your Android device. It offers a user friendly interface to transfer calls, create conference calls,
viewthestatusofotherusersorcontrolyourownstatus.

DownloadandInstall3CXPhoneforAndroid
1. InGooglePlayStore,tapthe

2. Fromtheresultlist,taptheresultwiththetitle
3CXPhonefor3CXPhoneSystem

begin.
4. A new screen will appear asking you to confirm that you accept the 3CXPhone application
rights.TapConfirm.OncethefileinstallationiscompletetapOpen.

5. You willseeamessageconfirmingthat3CXPhonehasbeeninstalled.Itwillaskyoutoopenthe
attachment you received in your 3CX Welcome Email. This email was sent to you when your
extensionwascreated.Ifyoucannotfindit,askyouradministratortoresendit.
6. SearchforanemailwithsubjectWelcometo3CXPhoneSystem.Openthatemail.

7. Tap on the attached provisioning file. The 3CXPhone will open and
configure itself to your
extensionusingtheinformationcontainedintheemailattachment
.
8. Once provisioning is completed you will see the
Available statusontheleftuppercornerand

On Hook on the dial screen. You can now start using your 3CXPhone on your Android to
accessallthefeatures3CXPhoneSystemhastooffer.

Upgrading3CXPhonetov14fromanOlderVersion
Ifyouareupgradingto3CXPhoneforAndroidv14fromanolderversionthenfollowthesesteps:

1. UninstalltheoldversionbygoingtoApplicationManager.
2. Select3CXPhonefromthedownloadedappsandclickUninstall.
3. Downloadthenewversion:
3CXPhoneforAndroid

Once you have installed the new 3CXPhone you will need provision it using the attachment in the

Whatis3CXPhoneforiOS?
3CXPhone for iOS is a SIP client that functions as a Softphone that
you can use to make and
receive VoIP phone calls on your iOS device. It offers a user friendly interface to transfer calls,
createconferencecalls,viewthestatusofotherusersorcontrolyourownstatus
.

3CXPhone for iOS is available as afreedownloadandis nowenrichedwithmany newandexciting


features.

Note: 3CXPhone for IOS requires either an iPhone 4s or above, iPad 3 or above andyoumustbe
usingIOS8orabove.

Downloadandinstall3CXPhoneforiOS
There are two ways to download and install 3CXPhone on your iOS device. You can either
download it to itunes, on your computer, then sync your IOS device with itunes to install the
3CXPhone app or download it directly on your iOS device. To download usingitunes,clickthislink
from your computer:

: When enabled, 3CXPhone will conserve bandwidth by not sending data
whendetectingsilence.Thismightimpedesoundqualitywhenenabled.
Microphone Gain
: If the other party cannot hear youclearly youcanincreaseyourmicrophone
gaintoamplifythevolumeofyourvoice.

AudioDevices

Microphone: Select the microphone source from which 3CXPhone will receive audio. Default:
PrimarySoundDriver.

Speaker: Select the speaker destination from which you will hear the call.ThiscouldbeaUSB
headsetorSpeakers.Default:PrimarySoundDriver.
Ringing: Select the destination from which you will hear 3CXPhone ringing. For Example,
3CXPhone can ring from speakers attached on your PC and the call can be heard through a
USBheadset.

Behavior

Focus:
Ifchecked,3CXPhonewillalwaysstealfocuswhenanincomingcallisreceived.
External Application: This option is used to enable and control communication between
3CXPhone and 3rd party applications. Find more information about this from our guides on

Language
Enableandselectthelanguageinwhichthe3CXPhoneinterfacewillbedisplayed.

AutoAnswer
EnableAutoAnswerforallyourincomingcallstobeansweredautomaticallyby3CXPhone.

Reregister
If your 3CXPhone is not registering or having difficulties connecting to your PBX, you can click
Reregister
whichwillautomaticallyreprovisionyour3CXPhonewith3CXPhoneSystem.

RequestWelcomeEmail
You can request to receive the welcome email that was sent to you when your extension was first
created by clicking
Request Welcome Email.
This is useful if you cant find the originalemailto
retrieve information such as your voicemail number or pin, the links toredownload3CXPhoneand
otherusefulinformationthattheemailcontains.

ImportContacts

This feature allows you to import your contacts from your Office 365 account and or your Google
Account. Simply enter your logindetailsandclickSync.Thiswillthenimportallyourcontactsfrom
theaccountspecifiedintoyour3CXPhonepersonaladdressbook.

Default is empty. When using the defaultsetting,3CXPhonewillusearandom
port provided by the system to pass SIP trafficthrough.Ifneededyoucandefineaportnumber
here.
Lock WiFi: Keeps WiFi awake when thescreenisturned offinorderfor3CXPhonetoreceive
callsinthebackground.
Enable3G:
Allows3CXPhonetouse3GconnectivitytomakecallswhenWifiisnotavailable.
FullScreen:
HidestheAndroidstatusbartousemorescreenspace.
Proximity Sensor: If your device is equipped with aproximitysensor,3CXPhonewillswitchoff
thedisplaywhenyouputthephonetoyourearduringacall.
KeypadTone:
Whenenabled,3CXPhonewillplaydialtoneswhendialinganumber.
UseSystemRingtone:
Whenenabled,youcansetadifferentringtonetousefor3CXPhone.
Ringtone:
Selecttheringtonethatwillplaywhenyoureceiveacallin3CXPhone.
Verbose Logging: Logs debugging information so a detailed log report is created for
submissiontooursupportteam.
SendLogReport:
Sendalogreportto3CXSupporttotroubleshootpotentialissues.

KeepAlive Interval (in seconds): The time interval at which a packet will be sent to 3CX
Phone System. The higher the number, the longer the packets will be kept alive. Useful
whenyoureusingyour3CXPhonefromoutsideyouroffice.
NAT Helper (default ON): Helps when 3CXPhone is used from outside the office to make
surethattheaddressdetailsofyourextensionstayintact.
DTMF (default RFC2833): Dualtone Multifrequency. Used when 3CXPhone interacts with
IVR (Interactive Voice Response) menus, such as voicemail. If DTMF tones are not
recognised,tryswitchingtotheotheravailableoptions(SIPINFO,INBAND).

AudioCodecs
Lists the available audio codecs in priority. The first listed codec has the highest priority. To

from the keypad, copy and paste a number into 3CXPhone, use the company phonebook or
personal contacts to dial a number and even return calls or redial a number from the recent calls
screen.

AttendedTransfer

3CXPhone for Windows allows you to easily transfer calls to other users using either
Blind
or

Attended
transfer. In a Blind Transfer the call is transferred without notifying the recipient. In an
Attended Transfer the recipient is notified by the person performing the transfer (while the caller is
onhold)andiftherecipientagreestotakethecallthenthetransferisperformed.

2. Enter the number you want to transfer the call to. Alternatively, you can searchfor acontactby
typing the name or number of the contact you are looking for. 3CXPhone will filteryourcontact

Another quick way to troubleshoot if your webcam is not working is to look at the preview on the
bottom right of the screen. If you do not see yourpreviewimagethere,thenthereisaproblemwith
thewebcamandyouneedtoinvestigate.Alsonotethatthecameraiconisalsogray.

The most common reason that causes your video to stop working is if another application is using
your webcam. One way of quickly resolving this is by closing all video applications, and joiningthe
meetingagain.

If thats not the issue then your browser may be blocking your webcam. Lets have a look how we

The phonebook allows you to quickly launch calls without wasting time finding a contacts number
and subsequently entering it in the phone. Not only can you dial numbers directly from the
phonebookbutalsoperformahostofactionsthatcanalsosaveyoutime.
Click on the
Contacts

button at the bottom menu to access the phonebook. Therearefour


typesofcontactsinthe3CXPhonebook(contactlist):

CompanyContacts

:Thesearecontactsretrievedfrom3CXPhoneSystem.

Personal Contacts

: These are contacts added by the user and can be seen only in the

AddingContacts
1. Whileonthephonebooktab,clickon
inthetoprightcorner.

2. Inthenew3CXcontactscreenfillinthecontactdetails.

3. If you have the rights to create company contacts you can select the
Add to company
phonebook
option. This option will save the contact to the Company Phonebook, allowing all
userswithinthecompanytoaccessit.
4. Clickon
OK
tosavethecontact.

SearchingforaContactinthe3CXPhonePhonebook
1. In the search field at the top of the contact list start typing any contact detail of thecontactyou
are searching for. This couldbethename,emailaddress,orphonenumber.Thecontactlistwill
begintofilterandshowtheresultsasyoutype.


2. Double clicking on a contact will take you to its contact details screen, or right click on the
contactandselectthedesiredactionfromthedropdownlist.

Calls can be filtered using the buttons at the bottom (Windows, iOS) or top (Android) of the call

Recording a conversation or a conference can be a great way to keep track of what is said.
Especially for meetings when you have to write meeting minutes. You can then access your
recordedcallsandplaythembackwithafewclicksofyourmouse.

: For you to be able to record a call you must have the rights to do so. Ifyoudonotyoumust
talktoyourAdministrator.

Important note:
When the 3CXPhone for Windows clientisinSoftphone mode,arecording canbe
started, stopped, and then restarted and stopped again if needed. In
CTI Mode
,oncetherecording
hasstarted,itstopsonlywhenthecallends.

RecordingaConversationwith3CXPhone
1. Duringacall,pressthe
Record
buttonatanypointtostartrecordingtheconversation.

2. Once recording is in progress the recording button will turn blue. Press the
Record
button
againtofinishrecording.

2. After at least one participant joins the call, click or tap the keypad
button on the bottom
menutogotoyourdialpadscreen.
3. Press the
Record
button to start recording the conference. Press the same button again to
stoprecording.

To record a conference that you are a participant of and not the organizer, please follow thesame
stepsasrecordingaconversationwith3CXPhonedescribedabove.

Recordings can take up a lot of space so its a good idea to keep them well managed. You can
access, play and delete recordings directly from 3CXPhone installed on your Windows PC or
AndroidandiOSdevices.

ElevateyourchattoaWebMeeting
When having a group chat, you can elevate your chat to a web meeting and all of your chat
participants can join in with audio and video. To create a web meeting, click the
Create 3CX
WebMeeting

button. Your browser will launch and you will be immediately logged into the
meeting. A link to join the web meeting will be sent to your chat window. Yourcolleaguescanclick
thelinktojointhewebmeeting.
