D UAS TO BE SAID DURING H AJJ

After youve put on the ihram, face the Qibla and say:
1. Niyyah of Ihraam (Say it aloud)
a. If you are doing Hajj Tamattu

Labbayk allahumma bi Umrah

Here I am O Allah, making Umrah
b. If you are doing Hajj Qiraan

Labbayk allaahumma bi Hajj wa Umrah

Here I am O Allah, making hajj and Umrah
c. If you are doing Hajj Ifrad

Labbayk allaahumma bi Hajj

Here I am O Allah, making hajj
2. Stating a Condition

Allaahumma mahillee haithu habastanee.

O Allah, my place is wherever you prevent me.
This is VERY important, because if you make this condition, you can come out of Ihram
without any expiation (dam) if you are prevented from Hajj for any reason.
3. Talbiyyah and Raising of the Voice

Allaahumma hadhi Hajj, laa riyaa feeha wa laa sumah.

O Allah, this is a Hajj, there being no ostentation (showing-off) in it nor hypocrisy.

Labbayk, Allaahumma labbayk. Labbayka la shareeka laka labbayk. Innal hamda wa

al-nimata. Laka wal mulk. La shareeka lak.

Here I am O Allah, here I am, there is no partner for You, here I am. Verily all praise is for You,
and every bounty is from You, and all dominion is Yours You have no partner.
And the Prophet (s) also said:

Labbayk ilaahal haqq

Here I am, O God of Truth

4. It is permissible to add

Labbayka dhal maarij, labbayka dhal fawaadhil.

Here I am, O Owner of Ways of Ascent, Here I am, O Owner of Excellence.
Ibn Umar also used to say:

Labbaika wa sa'daika wal khairu biyadaika war-raghabaa'u ilaika wal `amalu

Here I am and blessed by You, and all good is in Your Hands, and desire and action are directed
towards You.

When entering Masjid Al-Haram, put your right foot in first and say:
1.

Allallhumma salli `alaa muhammadin wa sallim - allaahumma aftah lee abwaaba

rahmatika
O Allah, send prayers and blessings upon Muhammad. O Allah, Open for me the doors of your
mercy.
2.

Aoodhu billaahil adheemi, wa bi wajhi hil kareemi, wa sultaani hil qadeemi, minash shaytaan ar rajeem.

I seek refuge in Allah, The Most Great and in His Most Noble Face and in His Eternal Power from
the Shaytaan, the rejected one.

Upon seeing the Kabah, say:

Allaahumma antas Salaam, wa minkas salaam, fahiyyina rabbana bissalaam.

O Allah, You are Al-Salam [the One Who is free from all defects and deficiencies] and from You is
all peace. So make us live in Peace.

When beginning the Tawaaf, point to the Black Stone and say:
1.

Bismillaahi, Allaahu Akbar

I begin in the Name of Allah. Allah is the Greatest.
2. Each time you pass by the black stone, point to it and say

Allaahu akbar.

There is no need to kiss your hands if you havent touched the black stone.
3. Each time you pass between Yemenite Corner and Black Stone continue to say:

Rabbana aatina fid dunya hasanah, wa fil aakhirati hasanah, wa qina adhaaban naar.
Our Lord! Give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the torment
of the Fire.
Other than the above, there are no specific Duaas to make while doing Tawaf.

After finishing Tawaaf, say

wa takhadhoo mim maqaami ibraheema musalaa

And take the Station of Abraham as a place of prayer.
And pray two Rakahs anywhere in the Haram.
It is not necessary to pray right behind the Maqaam Ibrahim.
In the first Rakah, read Surah Kafiroon, and read Surah Ikhlaas in the second Rakah.

Start Saee at Mount Al-Safaa.

The first time at Al-Safaa, say (only once):

Innas safaa wal marwata min shaaairillaah. Fa man Hajj al-Baita aw Itamara fa laa junaaha
alaihi an yettawafaa bihimaa. Wa man tattawaa khairan, fa innAllaha shaakirun aleem
Behold! Al-Safa and Al-Marwa are among the Symbols of Allah. So if those who visit the House in
the Season or at other times should circumambulate them round, it is no sin in them, and if any
one obeys his own impulse to good, be sure that Allah is He Who recognizes and knows.

Nabdaoo bimaa bada Allahu bihi

We begin with that which Allah began with.

Dua to be repeated Thrice during Saee at both Safaa and Marwaa

Each time at Safaa face the Kabah and say:

Allahu akbar Allahu akbar Allahu akbar, laa ilaaha illallahu wahdahu laa shareekalahu - lahul
mulku wa lahul hamdu - yuheeu wa yumeetu wa huwa 'alaa kulli shai'in qadeer laa ilaaha
illallahu wahdahu laa shareekalahu - anjaza wa'dahu wa nasara 'abdahu wa hazamal ahzaaba
Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. There is no object worthy of
worship except Allah Alone, He has no partner. To Him belongs the Dominion and all praise is
due to Him (Alone). He gives life and causes death and He is Powerful over all things. There is
no object worthy of worship except Allah Alone, He has no partner. He fulfilled His promise, gave
victory to His slave and destroyed the armies by Himself Alone.
Make any duaa you want now as the Prophet told us that duas are accepted at Safa & Marwa.
Then again say the above dua a second time and again make any dua you wish.

Then again say the above dua a third time and again make any dua you wish.
Then start walking towards Al-Marwa. This completes one round between the two mountains.
At Al-Marwa, repeat the whole process (make the above dua three times and make dua after
each time) and walk back towards Al-Safa to complete the second round.
In this manner, complete seven rounds.
Remember to run between the green lights (men only)
During Saee you may say if you wish:

Rabbighfir warham innaka antal a'azzul akram

O lord forgive and have mercy,verily You are the Most Mighty, Most Noble.

On the Day of Arafah:

There are many duas that one can say on the Day of Arafah. The best that the Prophet (s) said
that he and the prophets have said on the evening of Arafah is the following:

Laa illaha illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu wa Huwa
alaa kulli shayin Qadeer
There is no object worthy of worship except Allah Alone, He has no partner. To Him belongs the
Dominion and all praise is due to Him (Alone). And He is Powerful over all things.
If you wish, you may add:

The only good is the good of the Hereafter.

Innamaal Khairu Khairul Aakhirati
