Introduction
Solar Family is designed to compensate Solar Professionals
(Solar Pros) for introducing friends, neighbors and associates to the
benefits of solar energy and to encourage the development of a team
of Solar Pros

Solar Family has the following three distinct income components:


Personal and team solar commissions

Advancement and generational bonuses


Pool Payments
Solar Family has eight different methods of revenue generation that
provide immediate income streams for referrals and long-term
revenue as the team develops, grows and succeeds.

Blast Off Program


Solar Family also has a generous Blast Off program to increase the
rewards for those Solar Pros who are immediately successful at
promoting solar energy. Solar Pros become eligible for
compensation by generating interest in solar energy and building a
team that increases and amplifies this interest.

The Solar Pros career development is measured and quantified by Experience Levels (Levels).
The Solar Pro progresses through twelve distinct Levels based on monthly referral volume. Solar
Family is not only for Solar Pros who intend to gain experience and build a team. The program
also supports hobbyists who might refer an occasional friend or neighbor, small local businesses
and substantial regional, national and global organizations. The Solar Pro, however, is at the
center of the program, as an independent entrepreneur organizing and encouraging others. The
Solar Pro consistently promotes both the environmental and economic benefits of solar energy.

SOLAR PRO

Solar Family was designed for the on-demand economy, where independent providers fulfill the needs of
customers through digital marketplaces. Also known as the gig economy, access economy and sharing economy, the
on-demand economy is becoming a major means of offering transportation (Uber and Lyft), hospitality (AirBNB), delivery
(Instacart, Deliv), home services (TaskRabbit) and part-time labor (Upwork and Wonolo).
Solar Family brings the on-demand economy to the solar energy industry, and vice versa. Anyone can enter the solar
industry and achieve success as a Solar Pro by participating in training programs and gaining experience with their
team. While many Solar Pros might make a career in solar with a significant income, most will probably participate during
evenings and weekends to supplement household income.
Above all else, Solar Family is social. Solar Pros generate interest by sharing articles and videos about solar on social
media, in-person conversations and organized events. In each case, the goal of Solar Family is to encourage the
installation of solar energy systems, and all compensation ultimately results from successful installations.
Each solar installation will have associated Experience Points (XP) and Reward Value (RV).
Experience Points will be used to measure and advance Level, and Reward Value determines the
amount of commission that will be paid for the solar installation.
While Levels are calculated monthly, Solar Pros have two months to reach each advancement goal. If
a Solar Pro reaches an advancement goal by the end of a calendar month, they will advance
immediately. If they do not reach their goal by the end of the month, they will have an additional month
to generate the referrals necessary to qualify for the advancement.
Simply put, your Level at any one time is based on the Experience Points accumulated over the
previous two full months.
For the purpose of advancing Levels, Experience Points associated with a solar installation will be credited to the
Solar Pro when a customer signs an Installation Agreement. The Solar Pro will earn one-half (1/2) of their commission
payments at this time. The second half of the commission will be earned when the installation is complete, has been
inspected by the local jurisdiction and the customer has received Permission to Operate (PTO) from the local utility
service provider.
In the case that the customer cancels the solar installation, does not qualify for financing or if the installation is not
completed for any reason, the amount paid in commission will be deducted from future commission payments, and the
Experience Points will be deducted from the Solar Pros total, which may then affect the Solar Pros Level.

Experience Points are determined by the power capacity of solar energy installations that were initiated by
referrals directly from the Solar Pro. A table of experience points based on installed capacity for a single
installation follows:

Levels
As you gain experience, build a team and improve your performance as a Solar Pro, youll find your role
changes. More time will be spent coaching and encouraging your teammates, and less time will be spent
consulting with customers and helping them go solar. Solar Family is designed to help Solar Pros build a
substantial career in the solar industry, and progress from a part time Solar Enthusiast supplementing their
income with occasional referrals to a respected Chief Solar Officer with a national presence.

Solar Enthusiast

When an individual joins Geostellar as a member, until they are licensed as a Solar Professional,
they are known as a Solar Enthusiast.

When an individual accepts the terms of the Solar Professional License Agreement they become a

For recognition and tracking purpose only, once a Solar Pro refers at least one qualified solar

have made a qualified system sale they will be considered a Qualified Solar Guide.

Income Streams
Commissions from Personal Referrals

Every qualified solar energy installation will have a Reward Value (RV) assigned to the calculated on the base
cost of the system. The base cost of a solar energy installation is the total installed cost less the cost of the
following:
Adders. Site-specific features (such as the replacement of a main service panel, a re-roof, specialized racking and mounting, etc.) that are added to the base cost during design,
Promotions. Applicable discounts, rebates and promotions that are applied by the Solar Pro or a
channel partner to increase volume,
Taxes. Sales tax, if any.

The Reward Value of a transaction is based on the project scale, currently calculated as follows:

A $30,000 residential solar energy installation would provide an RV of $1,800.


A $600,000 commercial installation would provide an RV of $15,000.
A community-scale installation with a base cost of $7,500,000 would provide an RV of $112,500.
Reward Value may be adjusted as necessary, and current Reward Value will be provided in the Solar Pros
online console.
In addition to receiving Reward Value through the referral of customers for solar energy, Solar Pros may
receive Partner Reward Value (PRV) for installations associated with Solar Partners they enroll for two years
from the enrollment date.

For example, if a Solar Pro enrolls an organization such as a church, company or municipality as a Solar
Partner, and that entity offers solar energy to its members, associates or customers, the Solar Pro is eligible
for PRV on all volume generated by the Solar Partner. PRV is paid in addition to RV due to the referrer for
each individual transaction. In the case where a Solar Pro both enrolls a Solar Partner and refers a customer
associated with the Solar Partner, then the Solar Pro receives both the RV and the PRV.
Experience Points are not awarded for referring Solar Partners or for referrals made by Solar Partners where
the Solar Pro did not directly initiate the customer referral that resulted in a transaction.

Like Reward Value, PRV is calculated on base cost of all installations associated with the Solar Partner, which
does not include adders, promotions or taxes.
Solar Pros are eligible to receive a personal commission based on all referrals in the month a transaction is
consummated. The individual Solar Pros commission is based on their XP during the current commission
month as illustrated.

Experience Level Advancement Bonus

As a Solar Pro continues to build a team and gain experience they will qualify for certain advancement bonus
amounts at specific Levels. These bonuses are paid the first commission month the specific Level is achieved.
For advancement bonuses at SSC and higher the bonus will be paid over multiple months. If a Solar Pro
advances to multiple Levels in the same month or during months they are receiving the Advancement Bonus
for a previous title, the Solar Pro will receive the additional Advancement Bonus also. (Please note the time
requirement for CSA/ESA Rank Advancement Bonus).

Matching Advancement Bonus

When a Solar Pro sponsors another Solar Pro and they qualify to receive the Advancement Bonus payment for
the rank of CSG or ESG and the Solar Pro is currently equal to or higher than the equivalent rank they will
receive a matching bonus. Both the CSG and ESG Matching Advancement Bonus is determined by the Blast
Off timeline. Additionally, when an ESH qualifies for the Advancement bonus a matching bonus will be paid to
the first Mentoring Leader who is qualified at ESH or higher during that commission month (there is no timeline
for the ESH Matching Advancement Bonus).

Generational Bonus

Generational Payouts are available to Solar Pros whose active Experience Level is Solar Champion or higher.
A percentage of the RV is paid outside the normal 4 level commission payouts. The Generation Bonuses pay
in addition to the Level Commissions and Blast Off Bonus, it is through these Generation Bonuses that a
Leader may be rewarded on the depth that is developing in their organizations. As leaders develop team depth
Generational Bonuses will become the largest portion of their monthly earnings.

Personal Team Building Bonus A Solar Pro who qualifies in a commission month at the rank of ESH or
higher, will receive the Personal Team Building Bonus amount as noted in chart on each paid-as ESA-SSH
within their personal team (all Solar Pros within your organization, down to but not including the next Career
Level ESH or higher. The amount of the bonus is based on the paid-as level of each individual for the current
commission month. This bonus rewards Solar Pros for developing those anywhere in your organization,
regardless of what level they reside on.

Blast Off Program


The Geostellar compensation plan rewards those Solar Pros who engage quickly in their
business. The Blast Off period is defined as the first three full months after the Solar Pros month
of enrollment and is made up of two separate enhanced commission components. The first
enhancement is the Level One organizational commission, which boosts the RV to 10% during
the Blast Off period.
The Blast Off enhanced commission components will also be applied to ALL transactions closed
before September 30st, 2017.

The second Blast Off enhancement is paid in the Experience Level Advancement Bonus and includes a matching bonus
for the sponsor of the Solar Pro. The CSG bonus must be completed before the end of the second full month after the
enrollment of the Solar Pro and the ESG bonus must be completed before the third full month from the month of
enrollment. The Blast Off experience level advancement components will also be applied to all CSG and ESG
advancements occurring before September 30st, 2017.

Market Development Funds

In some cases, Geostellar might advance funds for promotional campaigns executed by the Solar Pro. These
funds can be used for events, emails, content development, advertisements, signage, displays, staffing,
software development or other uses that attract customers for solar energy.
In order to encourage shared commitments with the Solar Pro, advances will be deducted from commission
payments, with a 10% surcharge. Advances will not be recoupable by Geostellar if the Solar Partner is unable
to generate sufficient volume to cover advances.
All applications for Market Development Funds will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Glossary
EXPERIENCE POINTS (XP):

The total Qualifying Volume for a single Solar Pro from their personal referrals. (calculated monthly)

CAREER EXPERIENCE POINTS (CXP):

The Total Experience Points of a single Solar Pro for all personal sales since their join date.

TEAM VOLUME (TV):

The total Qualifying Volume from a Solar Pro and their entire team within the current month. It includes ALL Solar Pros
regardless of their titles and the Solar Pro themselves.

MAX TV RULE:

For purposes of Experience Level qualifications only, a maximum amount has been established where no more than the
listed amount will be counted towards the TV requirement from either the solar professional themselves or any single
Qualified Line.

QUALIFIED LINE:

A Qualified Line is established when a Solar Pro personally recruits another Active Solar Pro who is placed on their 1st level.

MENTORING LEADER:

A mentoring leader is a Solar Pro who is at a higher Experience Level than another Solar Pro and directly connected in the
relationship chain.

LEADERSHIP LEVEL:

When a Solar Pro sponsors a new Solar Pro to participate in the Referral Rewards program they are considered Leadership
Level One. Those Solar Pros sponsored by Leadership Level One Solar Pros are Leadership Level Two, relative to the
original Solar Pro and so on. Solar customers and Solar Enthusiasts are not considered when counting levels and do not
occupy any position on a Solar Pros team.
