What does ELL at

Logan Elementary look
like?
A brief overview of our program
Students who are new to the Ann Arbor
Public Schools that speak a language other
than English as a first language, or speak a
language other than English at home, are
eligible for the ELL Program at Logan
Elementary.
Students are assessed using the W-APT
Placement Test created by the World-class
Instructional Design and Assessment (WIDA).
Families are notified of English Language
Program eligibility within the first month of
school.
ALL Families have the right to refuse services
by returning a form to the school notifying
the school stating that they do not want their
student to receive English Language Learner
Support as part of his/her instructional
experience.

We all smile in the

same language. :)
Current English Language Learners will
receive notification of their continued
participation in the ELL Program at Logan
Elementary within the first month of school.
Mr. Culbertson will work with classroom
teachers to focus on specific language learning
goals that correspond to the grade-level
content learning goals of each student.
I look forward to working with you this year!

HERITAGE FESTIVAL!
Every year, Logan Elementary has a Heritage
Festival to celebrate the cultural identity of the
families in our school and in our community. If you
would like to learn more about how you can share
your culture and your identity with others at the
heritage festival, please contact:
