Who is your bet and why he is the best presidential candidate?
He is one of the rare politicians who walk the talk. He made Davao City as the 5 th safest
city in the world because of his ironclad leadership and labeled as The Punisher and Dirty
Harry of Davao. My presidential bet for presidency is none other than, of course, our beloved
Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Here are the following reasons why I think that Mayor Duterte is the most qualified to be
the next president of the Philippines:

When Mayor Rody first become mayor of Davao, Davao then is dubbed as the
killing field of Asia, barely a decade later it became as one of the most livable city
in Asia and now 5th of the worlds safest city, because of his platform of order and
stability. Davao City won the award of Best Peace & Order Council in Region XI
in 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002 and earned a permanent place in the Hall of Fame
of the National Peace and Order Council of the National Police Commission. His
strict rules made him famous. Among the famous ordinances enacted by the city
government under Duterte were the firecracker ban, liquor ban (which prohibits
the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages from 1 PM to 8 AM in public

places), Speed limit ordinance and the anti-smoking ordinance.

Dutertes extraordinary term as a mayor saw the change of Davao City from a
crime-infested area into a prosperous business center equipped with its own 24/7

emergency hotline (Central 911).

Although known as The Punisher, he has also a humanitarian side; Mayor
Duterte is the first local government unit who responded after the Super Typhoon

Yolanda.
Duterte cares for the indigenous and tribal people. Mayor Duterte is one of the
first mayors who appointed Muslim and Lumad people as a deputy mayor in the
city government. He has faith in the tribal leaders that are in a better position to
tackle particular issues and problems of priority and special concern to native
tribal and Muslim constituent groups of the city.

Mayor Duterte may despise communist-related violence, but he still respects the
rebel group New Peoples Army (NPA) and their ideologies. Although he is
against their armed struggle, Duterte admits that he shares with NPA the same
view of the politics and the government.

It is just a little peek of what a good leader Duterte is as a mayor how much more being
the president of the republic.
No other presidential candidate has his reputation for integrity and incorruptibility, or can
equal the respect given him or he can communicate/lobby from all social and political forces of
Philippine society: Trapos, CPP/NPA, MNLF, MILF, AFP and police forces. Duterte is an
extraordinary politician and statesman because of this. Duterte made the City of Davao safe and
livable for its people.
There is no need to compare the other presidential because it is clearly that Mayor
Rodrigo Duterte is the most fit to lead the country and I think that he is the only person that can
bring salvation to Pilipino people.
For what good will progress be if its benefits do not trickle down to the poorest of the
poor. Let us bear in mind, that the test of good government is not whether we can add more to
the abundance of those who have much, but whether we can provide for those who have so
