PART 1 : INSTALLATION OF xrecovery VIA

Rooted Successfully??!! Fantastic!!

Now youre just few more steps from Using Amazing, Better Custom ROMs!! Theyre waiting for ya :D
Alright?
But Before that, you have to install Xrecovery. I wont teach you install CWM first because thats for
UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER. NOTE IT OK? For Newbies, itll be good for practicing Xrecovery first. Then
move again to next level once youre getting used, and ready for it.
Okay Lets Make Pre-Check Once again, so we wont make any mistake in middle of installation.
PHONE REQUIREMENT:

USB Cable [flashmode no more needed this time]

USB debug allowed
Unknown sources allowed
Powered On and Functioning Rooted X10i 2.3.3Official GB

Alright??Are We all Set??Lets Move On ;)

1. First, turn On your phone and get to the Homescreen.

2. Open the Flashtool i asked you to use before.
3. Connect USB cable between your X10 (no need to turned off this time) to Computer.
Observe the flashtool. Something will be shown like Below if your X10 successfully rooted
and got SuperUser app(MUST-HAVE) along :

4. Then, click Ask Root Perms for allowing Flashtool for synchronise with your X10 and
allowing installation of Xrecovery. Your Phone will be notified about Root Permission by
Superuser. If not shown, STOP AT HERE, and replug USB cable and recheck!!
5. If there is, click Allow in your X10. You will get image Below:

6. Once all options are available, Ignore others. Just Click Xrecovery for installing it inside
your X10. And let it do its job. Process will be done as in image (Next Page):

7. And There, Settled!!! Now, lets Check Is your Xrecovery there or not? Turn Off your phone
now. And Turn On the Phone. Once you see Sony Ericsson Logo, Press Back hardkey
button immediately and keep pressing like playing games!!!! Until, you see troll faced

PART 2 : FLASHING CUSTOM ROM/

UPDATES ZIPS via Xrecovery
Ok, now your X10 is rooted, installed Xrecovery? Now, lets tweak our Phone xD !! But first, you
need to know what files are needed for flashing New Software/ROMs. They all come in common
format which is .zip format. Basically, they divided into 3 parts:

ROM (Read-Only-Memory) [1st] The main system software mainly contain subfolders that
contain files, Java command files ands apps needed to be working like camera, gallery, phone
call, WiFi , music player and so on. This Item must be Flashed First via Xrecovery.
Update zipped file [2nd] Zipped file that Contains few subFolders/Files to replace/add into
your X10 with Customised ROM. Exp: (Installing Xloud & BRAVIA ENGINE for X10) Note that
not all update zip are compatible to different ROMs. Because update file comes with different
MANIFEST, XML, even update scripts. Dont take these lightly because if you did use wrong
update files, it will overwrite your X10s setting, sequence and may cause phone collapsed
X_X . This update zip can only be flashed after you finished flashing Custom ROM
Fix Zipped File [3rd] The file that contains certain files to fix bug problems (or we call
coding error) Usually fix problems like WiFi Not Working, Colour Problem, and so on. Usually
created following developers ROM compability.

HOW TO GET THESE FILES?

Developers in XDA normally will upload their files in file-sharing websites
like Mediafire, Minus, depositfile and many more. Once done uploading, they
will hidden-coded download link them in their posted Threads. Like Below:

Understood? Okay lets get some flashing Custom ROM example.

In Here, Im going to use DonutHD ROM as reference guide, specially thanks to senior alzbac for
allowing me to use the ROM as guide:
1. Read Requirement, Installation Instruction carefully before doing anything ;) Take your time
for choosing your ROM alright

2. Download ROM zip file from file-sharing website. Exp: DonutHD 2.1 ROM (in red) in
Mediafire

3. Download Updates zip file if developer provides.

4. If theres any fix zip, not necessary download if youre locked bootloaded. Normally
developers already intergrate those fixes along ROM/Updates when flashed via Xrecovery.
Mostly those fix zip files are for Unlocked Bootloader X10 (Higher Level - Intermediate),these
file needed because need to be flashed via flashtool for intergrating with Custom Kernel
(NON-SONY KERNEL).
5. So, all necessary files downloaded? Okay, then use your USB cable, connect your X10 to
computer for USB Mass Storage Transfer (MTP). Transfer those files to SD Card.
6. Then, remove USB cable and turn off your X10 and reboot/restart!! Go to Xrecovery Mode
(repeatly press back button after see SE Logo shows after power on )!!!

First, to make whole thing smooth, like developers recommend:

Make Full Wipe/Factory Reset
Make Wipe Cache Partition
Lastly, Install Custom Zip Install Custom Zip from SD Card Where Your
Custom ROM is located Click Yes
Let installation or we called Flashing do her work. Once Done, you will see similar

result image (in red box) below:

8. Done??Return to main menu and Reboot Phone. Dont have to press back button already
;) For first time installing new Custom ROM, Reboot time will be longer like the time you
updated your X10 2.3.3GB Official Version.
9. Get Your Custom ROM Worked?? If Yes, CONGRATULATION ONCE
AGAIN!!! xD Enjoy using new ROM alright if wanna flash another new ROM, just repeat
those a.b.c.d steps ;)
