 Currently working with a team of 40 placement coordinators to organize various lectures and

CAPTAIN, Swimming Team, IIT Bombay [JAN 2010 – PRESENT]
 Organized trials to select the IIT Bombay team for Inter IIT Aquatics 2010 to be held at IIT Roorkee;
planned the role of each of the team members to maximize the overall points and medals
 Mentored freshmen and sophomores with their swimming skills and customized the practice sessions to

 Secured 1st position in IITB’s Swimathon three years in a row by swimming continuously for 12 hours.
Covered a distance of 27.5 km in 12 hours in Swimathon 2010, improving upon my previous distances of
25.5 km in 2009 and 21.2 km in 2008
 Awarded the Arati Memorial swimming trophy for Best Swimmer in IIT Bombay in 2009
 Won a gold medal in 4x100m Medley Relay and a bronze in 200m breast stroke at Inter IIT Aquatics
 Won bronze medal in 200m Butterfly at CBSE national level swimming championship in 2004
 Won 3 state-level and over 25 district-level swimming events while in school
 Key member of the IIT Bombay water polo team since 2007; the team won bronze medal at the Inter IIT
Aquatics in 2009
TECHNICAL
 Made the remote controlled car that finished 3rd in the annual IITB’s F1 race among 300 freshmen
 Assembled a block lifting robot for the Techfest 2008 competition, Nexus
 Built a mechanical device that solves the given Boolean expression at Mech-a-boolean in Techfest
FINE ARTS
 Exhibited over 100 of my paintings for 2 days in Vishakhapatnam in 2004. Exhibits included paintings,
etched works and drawings with pastels
 Was part of the First Place-winning fine-arts team at IIT Bombay’s Performing Arts Festival 2009. The
fine-arts department was awarded the Gem of PAF.
 Secured 2nd prize in face painting competition at Chaos 2009, IIM Ahmedabad

THERMAL RESPONSE OF A CASK AND MASS BURNING RATE [MAY 2009-JUL 2009]
 Conducted a literature survey in Burning rates of pool fires and the one dimensional direct and inverse
conduction problems
 Successfully experimented with burning pool fires to establish mass burning rate for various parameters
 Developed simulations for thermal response of a cask in a pool fire in C++ and Fortran and incorporated
Sandia one-dimensional direct and inverse thermal Code (SODDIT)
TRIANGULATION BASED LASER SCANNER [NOV 2009]
 Proposed a low cost system to accurately capture 3D image of a physical object without making contact
 Devised the system using triangulation algorithm, and successfully assembled the laser scanner
ALTERNATIVE WORKING FLUIDS FOR HIGH TEMPERATURE PLANTS [APR 2010]
 Identified through literature survey, parameters and evaluated alternative working fluids for their use in
high temperature plants
SINGLE PLAYER BATTLESHIP GAME [OCT 2007]
 Developed a C++ code for single player Battleship, a strategy game played against the computer
