Student Project
You will be required to do a class project (group project). This project will represent 10 % of
your grade. It will be evaluated on the substance and creativity. You must submit the project
40 days before the end of semester. You can also submit a rough draft after 4 weeks of start
the course. Oral presentations will last 15 minutes and the written report should be long
enough to represent the same material, however, do not plan merely to read your report to the
class; oral and written presentations of the same material are very different.
Possible topics for presentations (areas for which we will not have sufficient time during
class sessions):

Irrigation structures analysis

Ground-water management
Threats to ground water
Watershed analysis
Ground water and tectonic processes
Regional variation in ground water
Regulatory framework/politics of ground water
Groundwater or Surface Water Modeling
Surface Water Development and management
Water resources engineering
Hydraulic structure & Dam design
Water & soil conservation
Groundwater or Surface Water Contamination
Case studies
Drought forecasting
Irrigation software (Cropwat, HEC-RAS and ..)
Other (encouraged)

Project topics should be approved by the instructor. Each group should do a different
topic. If you dont submit your project title the topic will be assigned by instructor.
