STEEL

Steel is an alloy consisting mostly of Iron, with carbon content up to

and 2 % In general this is known as Carbon Steel which other than carbon
is alloyed with Manganese & Silicon to satisfy the quality parameter of
the customers. When metal like chromium, Nickel, Molybdenum, Manganese,
Vanadium and Silicon etc are added in the steel beyond certain limits to
achieve the definite physical properties required for its use, it is
known as alloy steel.

EAF(ELECTRIC ARC FURNACE)

An electric arc furnace (EAF) is a furnace that heats charged material

by means of an electric arc. The furnaces range in size from small units
of approximately one ton capacity (used in foundries for producing cast
iron products) up to about 400 ton units used for secondary steelmaking.

LRF(LADLE REFINING FURNACE)

Ladle Refining Furnaces are used to raise the temperature and adjust the
chemical composition of molten metal. Without LRFs, higher tap
temperatures are normally required from steel making furnaces due to
heat losses during refining with conventional ladles.

AOD(ARGON OXYGEN DECARBURIZATION)

Argon oxygen decarburization (AOD) is a process primarily used

in stainless steel making and other high grade alloys with oxidizable
elements such as chromium and aluminum. After initial melting the metal
is then transferred to an AOD vessel where it will be subjected to three
steps of refining. decarburization, reduction, and desulphurization.

VD(VACUUM DEGASSING)

Subjecting the liquid Steel to a vacuum level if 1mm for removing the
undesirable constituents & removing/reducing Gases like Nitrogen,
Hydrogen, and Oxygen. Subjecting the liquid Steel to a vacuum level if
