Three Southern California High school students scored a perfect 2400 on the SAT, according to the Arcadia Unified School District. Hanah Lee, Jeffrey Wang and Titus Wu of Arcadia High School received a perfect score in each of the test’s three sections: reading, writing and math.
Kyle and Ryan Jannak-Huang, seniors at Palatine High School in Illinois, both scored a perfect 36 on their ACT college exams. They were the first identical twins to do so and remain the only identical twins known to have been accepted to all eight ivy league universities.
Despite college admissions counselors suggesting otherwise, it would appear that taking the SAT or ACT multiple times has little or no effect upon admission to elite schools. Kathryn Osborn took the SAT 15 times and the ACT 14 times, Casey Botticello took the ACT at least 17 times, and James Chen took the ACT 13 times. All three students were admitted to multiple Ivy League universities. As a result of Casey Botticello and Kathryn Osborn’s “extraordinary test taking determination,” the ACT test taking limit per student was established at 12 attempts.
John Carter remains the only known student to achieve a perfect SAT score (2400) on five separate test dates prior to applying to college.
At least 18 students have taken and received a perfect score (5) on 20+ AP Exams.
Kenny, Martina, Ray and Carol Crouch were the first set of Quadruplets Admitted to Yale and also the first quadruplets to all score in the top 1% of both the ACT and SAT.
Roger Porter applied to, and was accepted to, the top 50 schools according to Newsweek’s 2012 rankings of “Best Colleges.”
In a single year, 14 students from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Fairfax, VA scored perfect scores on the SAT, ACT and SAT 2 Subject tests.
At least 13 students nationwide scored a perfect 800 on 7+ SAT 2 Subject Tests.
The study is ongoing and the final report will be published at a future date.
