Reviewing project specific specifications in line with local standards and codes.
Managing large design projects for structural related activities and coordinated services.
Managing design to British, American and/or International design standards as required by the project.
Managing QA and the checking of all design work carried out prior to formal issue.
Ensuring full coordination between the Structural elements of the design team, throughout the design
process.
Managing engineers, technicians and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) / Building Information Modeling
(BIM) staff.
Reviewing arithmetical checks and independent design checks of other design teams and design
reviews in accordance with quality procedures.
Minimum Requirements
A minimum of 20 + years of experience within Structural Engineering working for international Design
Consultancies.
Preferred Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree is required in Structural Engineering, as well as a MIStructe, Membership of the Institution
of Structural Engineers (UK)

Our Middle East operations have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Structural Engineer to
join our Abu Dhabi office in United Arab Emirates. This position is integral to the team, reporting
to the Structures Group Manager and offers you the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary
architecture and engineering practice.
To be successful, you must be a qualified Structural Engineer, with a minimum 15 years
experience, ideally Chartered and / or holding a certification in project management, and a
sound understanding of current structural engineering technologies and project delivery of large
residential, commercial, industrial, educational, hospitality and/ or hospital developments.
Ability to successfully manage your clients and other significant internal and external
stakeholders.
Experience in preparing fee proposals, winning jobs and negotiating contracts with
both your clients and subcontractors.
