Chapter 1 - Military Etiquette
The San Andreas Armed Services being a military, behaves differently from a typical law enforcement agency.
Respect, dedication and selflessness is demanded of all soldiers, regardless of their rank. There is a strict
military etiquette that must be followed by anyone with a set of dog tags. This can include things such as
addressing a Commissioned Officer as sir, to not using police radio codes such as 10-4.

When addressing any Commissioned Officer in person or over the radio you must refer to them using their rank,
last name followed by sir or ma'am.
Example: Lieutenant Ben, sir. May I go off duty to buy a vehicle from a friend in Los Santos?
When referring to an enlisted member or NCO, simply state their rank followed by their last name.
Example: Corporal Core, could you show me where the on base parking is?
When standing at the RTB line for an RTB you should lineup single file starting from the right, facing north and
being at attention (( /crossarms 4 ))
The only time you should move away is when the commanding officer tells you to "fall out" at which point you
would go out and carry out their orders. (If an Officer tells you to get a Humvee, you dont do that until being
told to Fall out) At any point if the commanding officer were to order you to "Atten-hut" you would stand
attention for them. (( /crossarms 4 ))
Saluting has historically been a way of showing not only allies, friends and superiors but also strangers, respect.
It is the ultimate silent form of showing another that they respect their presence. When addressing and
departing from a higher ranked Commissioned Officer it is expected that you salute them. (( /gesture 11 ))
When pinning an award or promoting a soldier, the Officer will always salute them before allowing them to fall
back into line.

Chapter 2 - Call Signs

The San Andreas Armed Services uses abbreviations for quick communication called call signs that all soldiers
must learn and recognize. These call signs range from orders to shorten words such as landing zone
abbreviated into LZ. The call signs listed here must be memorized by all to ensure quick action is taken when
they are called out.

Chapter 3 - Chain of Command

Any military that has ever existed has had a chain of command in which all personnel followed. Questions such
as "who can give me my wings" or "can I go off duty" can be answered by practically everyone who has served
or is currently serving within the San Andreas Armed Services. The reason ranks and the chain of command
were even created is to allocate the workload as to not burn any single person out. Not only does it help
command staff but it's insulting to overstep your direct superior before speaking to them and going directly to
their supervisor. Everyone within the San Andreas Armed Services can help one another, by following the chain
of command you are giving your superior a chance to help you and show his supervisors that you know to
follow CoC and that they are capable leaders.

Examples of following the chain of command if you were a Private: Asking a Corporal of the
Air-Force on how they could obtain their wings.

Examples of following the chain of command if you were a Corporal: Asking a Captain if you
may go off duty to sell a vehicle.

Examples of following the chain of command if you were a Lieutenant: Asking your Captain
if you may recommend someone for a promotion.

Examples of NOT following the chain of command if you were a Private: Asking a Major if
they can go on combat patrol in Los Santos.

Examples of NOT following the chain of command if you were a Corporal: Answering a
department call from the FBI when there are multiple CO's on duty.

Examples of NOT following the chain of command if you were a Lieutenant: Asking a General
if they can approve their department/division transfer.

The highest ranking Commissioned Officer is the Commanding Officer, regardless of which
department or division they fall under. This means that if anyone is given an order by a CO,
and that CO goes off duty (( Logs off )) their orders are no longer valid the second another
CO gives out an order.

Example: General McFlies tells everyone to run laps until he says stop, Cross goes off duty
and Lieutenant Ben comes on duty and calls a RTB. All personnel are to obey Ben's orders and
return to base.

The minimum rank for someone to call an RTB which all personnel under their rank must
attend is Sergeant.

Chapter 4 - Certifications
The San Andreas Armed Services follows a rank and command structure followed by divisions to ensure
effective military organization. Your rank defines who you are in the San Andreas Armed Services and holds
absolute authority. You may not like someone personally, but you will respect their rank. All personnel are
expected to memorize and know these ranks and certifications. (( Due to being limited by the DFU, we can only
have 10 ranks in-game, as such many of these ranks, for example Non Commissioned Officers, are role played.
))
Flagged Command
General
Colonel
Major
Commissioned Officers
Captain
Lieutenant
Non-Commissioned Officers
Sergeant
Enlisted Personnel
Corporal
Specialist
Private First Class
Private

Chapter 5 - Branches/Divisions
The San Andreas Armed Services has two main branch: The Army Division and, the Air-Force Division. There are also 2
Administrative branches, Military Affairs and Human Resources.
Everyone within the San Andreas Armed Services is an infantrymen at first, followed by their certification or division. This means
that anyone can operate a tank or be a combat medic, so long as they are certified. However, piloting an Aircraft will requiring
training and a divisional transfer to the Air Force; upon with certification for aircrafts are automatically granted. Your
certification/wings will appear on your personal profile once you have completed your training. ((Forum Award)) The minimum
rank you must be to obtain a certification is Private First Class.

Chapter 6 - Jurisdiction/Zones
(( DGA Approved Red Zones: http://ng-gaming.net/forums/showthread.php?539046-A-DGA-Red-Zones ))
The San Andreas Armed Services is a Federal Law Enforcement Agency under the Government of San Andreas.
In short what this means is we have complete operational and jurisdiction over the entirety of San Andreas; aka
we can arrest anyone, anywhere at anytime during times of war. This does not include citizens of the Republic
of New Robada when we are in their territory. We will only arrest those that trespass in our military red and
yellow zones, not in cities or elsewhere. The absolute only two organizations we will jump to our feet for are the
FBI and the Government itself. Though this does not mean we will not assist local police departments nor act
unprofessional when dealing with other Federal LEA's such as LSPD.
The San Andreas Armed Services also controls and patrols established military red zones as well as a sweeping
yellow zone in Bone County. All departments with the exception of the FBI, are required to call in and ask
permission to access our zones. SBA/SBB are considered red zones and anyone found in them will be dealt with
by force if they do not leave immediately. Despite being military zones occasional stragglers and even locals
tend to step and drive into the yellow zone. Most of the time simply telling them they are in a military zone and

asking them to leave is enough. However if anyone refuses they are to be charged and processed for
trespassing.
Lethal action is always authorized but discouraged as innocents do tend to get lost. Use your head, a pizza boy
or a trucker does not pose a threat to the safety of San Andreas and DeMorgan. Even if a LSPD officer is in the
red zone does not mean the correct action is to shoot at him when he refuses to leave.

Yellow - Yellow Zone

Red - Red Zone

Chapter 7 - Professionalism/Roleplay Standards
Anyone that joins the San Andreas Armed Services is expected to maintain a level of professionalism and role
play standards that is very basic in terms of role play. Being in a faction, anyone that is forum complained or
punished by an admin in-game not only makes them look back, but the entire faction look bad. To ensure you
never power game, always be sure to give someone a chance to role play respond to the actions you are
attempting to perform on them. If you see someone resisting or you yourself need help with for example
detaining someone, simply get two people role playing the same thing like dragging at the same time. Use
common sense when it comes to role play and be sure to never Power Game or Meta Game under any
circumstances.

Chapter 8 - Communications/Radio
There are a wide range of radio devices that the San Andreas Armed Services utilizes. Communication between
any number of people is vital for maximum success in any operation or organization. However like the Chain of
Command, radio authorization and use starts from the highest ranking CO online and works itself down. This
means when the President calls for the San Andreas Armed Services a Private should not be answering their call
unless he is the only one on active duty or ordered to be a superior.

((You must be on Teamspeak in the San Andreas Armed Services channels if you're in-game
on duty. Log on Teamspeak BEFORE you log in-game))

SAAS Radio ((/r)) - Unrestricted accesses to all San Andreas Armed Services personnel and
may be used freely. ((IC Radio))

SA Department Radio ((/dept)) - Commissioned Officer priority is taken into account firstly, if
no CO is available or is busy then the next NCO in line would answer. The radio however may
be used by Private First Class+, if abused in anyway the said individual would face disciplinary
action. ((IC Radio))

International Radio ((/int)) - Restricted for Commissioned Officer use only. Lieutenant+ (( IC
Radio ))

Business Radio ((/br)) - Unrestricted accesses to all San Andreas Armed Services personnel
and may be used freely. ((OOC Radio))

may be used freely. ((OOC Radio))

ladders, spikes and barricades. These utilities are restricted to the use for Sergeants and above lone. They must
be used properly and only deployed when required as well as removed when they are no longer needed.
Anyone found abusing their access to these privileges will be demoted and possibly discharged if need be.

To check what is already deployed simply type the deploy-able name such as; /cades /spikes /flares /cones
/barrels /ladders

Chapter 14 - Commands - OOC

The San Andreas Armed Services has a wide variety of commands at our disposal. For a simple list just type
/help in-game while in the faction.

Unlisted Commands: /renderaid, /turnout, /dvadjust, /clearbugs.

Chapter 15 - Off Duty Requests

Active military duty can put its stress on even the most dedicated of soldiers and once in awhile some time off
to catch up with friends, spend some hard earned government pay or just grab a drink is needed. However
being in a military you take your dog tags everywhere you go if they are in sight or not. This means that trust
plays a big role in being allowed to go off duty, and those that have not been promoted to required ranks must
request permission first.

Only Captains and Military Affairs Staff may grant off duty.

Privates may not go off duty at any time unless they are the only person in town.

Sergeantz+ may sign themselves off duty for a limited time of 1 hour. Unless they are the
highest rank on duty, then they have the responsibility to take over SAASs Operations and
may not go off duty.

Commissioned Officers may sign off active duty any time they wish. However if a higher rank
calls for them, they must respond and report back for duty immediately.

If an Officer grants you permission to go off duty and they hit the barracks (( Log out )) then
the moment anyone higher rank than you, regardless of the rank the Officer that granted you
permission, calls you back you must return to active duty.

If you are the only member on duty (( Example: You're a Corporal in the OC time zone and no
one is on but you )) then you may take yourself off duty until called for by any higher ranking
member.

Chapter 16 - Leaves of absence

Leave of absences are ways for personnel to take time off active duty while still obtaining their rank with full
intention to return to return to service in a allocated period of time. LOA's must be approved by the the
respective Vice Commander and may be extended by the Commander of said department. The Director of
Military Affairs may also grant any personnel within the San Andreas Armed Services a LOA as well as end any
LOA at their discretion. Personnel must realize that by taking a LOA with no or little intentions of returning to
active service within a timely manner, that they are simply taking up a rank slot in which could be given to
another who could better serve the San Andreas Armed Services.

LOA that are longer than 2 weeks (14 days) must be approved by the General or Colonel if a
good reason is provided.

The maximum allocated time anyone may go on a LOA is 2 weeks from the date it was filed.

LOA's must have a week interval before issuance of another LOA. You cannot file another LOA
during a current LOA.

Under no circumstance that a personnel on LOA is to be seen on base nor is to join primary
radio communications (( Team Speak ))

Chapter 17 - Retirement/Reinstatement
Retirement from the San Andreas Armed Services is considered a privilege rather than a right. Many people
think that leaving on their own terms is a retirement. The only way someone may be considered for retirement
is if they follow the proper procedures and obtain permission from their respective department commanders,
military affairs or the General of the San Andreas Armed Services. Retirement status enables everyone to know
that you have served the San Andreas Armed Services to the best of your ability and may reinstate whenever
you're ready to. Contact the Department of Military Affairs for more information on how to retire.

Chapter 18 - Reinstatement

NCO's and CO's may vouch the reinstatement application.
All reinstatements achieve the rank of Private First Class. If the exam has changed, they will get the rank of
Private and they will have to take the exam at any day within 14 days of joining.

If there are 2-4 personnel online, they must be in 1 patriot for the combat patrol.
If there are 5 personnel online, 3 takes 1 patriot and 2 takes another patriot for the combat patrol.
If there are 8 Personnel online, 4 takes 1 patriot and 4 takes another patriot for the combat patrol.
Combat patrols are to be in a convoy unless a Sergeant approves to spread.
When combat patrol is over, all patriots are to be returned back to their proper parking spot.

Chapter 26 - Vehicle Violation

Vehicle Violation is a policy that counts as 1 strike, each vehicle you do not park back in their spot will result in
a strike per vehicle. This is an easy way to get you fired.
No private owned vehicles are permitted inside the base, park them outside the base.
SAAS vehicles must be parked back in their proper spot, if found unparked, the last driver will be punished.
