However, his EA study has taken into account the implications of widening the exiting Highway 417 bridge structure in considering widening options for the existing section of Terry Fox Drive between (Campeau Drive and Hazeldean Road, ‘The Teny Fox Drive EA Study was co-ordinated with the study processes and public consultation sctvitie for the Kanata Official Plan Review, the Kanata North Urban Expansion Aret Stuy, the Shitley's Brook/Watts Creck Subwatershed Study, and the Castlefrank Road OverpassTterchange EA ‘Study, all of which an concurrently with all or portions of the Tery Fox Drive BA Study ‘The selected design altemative, the impacts associated with this design end the proposed mitigation ‘measures were presented to Regional Transporation Committee and Council, and the City of Kensta ‘Counel for their approval in March 2000. Following their approval, his ESR was prepared nd ile for ‘the mandatory 30 day perio for public review to complete the Class EA process. STUDY AREA ‘The study area for this project is illustrated in Figure F.1. The study area Boundaries were: ‘Terry Fox Drive(Mareh Road inthe north; Eagleson Road/Hope Side Road in the south; Crp River tothe west and ‘Eagleson Road/March Road othe eas. ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT PROCESS ‘The preferred fnetional alignment forthe wideninglextension of Terry Fox Drive was determined using study process that follows the five (8) general principles ofthe Class EA process: -consuliation with members ofthe publi; ‘consideration of reasonable alterative; ‘consideration of aspects ofthe natu, sosialand economic environment, systematic evaluation ofall net environmental effets: and complete (tsceable and defensible) documentation ofthe decision-making process. ‘The wideningextension of Teny Fox Drive qualifies as a Schedule "C™ project according tothe Class A for Municipal Road Projects. Schedule C projects require the evaluation of planning altematives and design allenatives (fe, alignmentlross-secton) and the preparation ofan Environmental Stuy Repot Dillon Conlin Laied ‘October 7000 Ud Richards & Assoietes Lmtd Pages
