In Christianity and Judaism, Jesus and mosses

are considered to be saviours. Analyse why

each religion considers the 1relevant figure to be
a saviour?
Religion is an idea that has held and helped people connect to something
higher than themselves. Religion brings people together and gives hope to
people in need, it is a belief and worship in a superhuman controlling
power. For thousands of years, people have been worshiping gods &
statues. Religion brings people guidance and creates paths, every religion
is different but many have similar properties and connect while still having
defining characteristics that are unique. "The Lord God, the creator of
Judaism and the God of Judaism and Christianity." -Michael Novakexplains that the same lord is the creator of both Judaism and
Christianity.
Christianity is stem from Judaism, therefore, they have very similar beliefs
and fundamental rules, however, these two religions, though very similar
are anything but they same. Christianity focuses on the belief of the
physical being Jesus Christ, while Judaism focuses on the supernatural
god Hashem. Both of these religions are based on the all mighty savour.
To be savour in both Christianity and Judaism means to save someone
from sickness, from hardships and from themselves, to redeem the sins of
the people. Christianity and Judaism both have profits that are considered
to be saviours - Jesus and Moses. These profits have done very similar and
very different open miracles that have allowed them such a prestigious
title.
Judaism is one of the oldest, still existent, religions today. Abraham
founded Judaism, today there are approximately 14 million Jewish people,
in that, there are three main branches of Judaism, each with very different
approaches. The Torah is the foundational text, but texts such as the
Midrash and Talmud were later added. Judaism focuses on the belief that
there is only one god, who intern, gave birth to Jesus- Christianitys
fundamental saviour, however this has little importance in Jewish faith but
extremely important in Christianity. That you will know that God is
the Supreme Being and there is none besides Him. (Deuteronomy
4:35) pushes the importance of G-d and the importance of him being the
singular being to pray to. Judaism has thirteen main principle beliefs, put
together by rabbi Maimonides in the 12th century, they are called the
thirteen beliefs of faith. These beliefs are extremely important to
understanding why Moses is the saviour as they are signifying the
importance to follow Moses. These beliefs comprise of the certainty that
Judaism is a monotheistic religion, meaning under no circumstance should
you pray to anything but Hashem. God is unique. God is intangible. God is
eternal. Only pray to god. All that the prophets have said are true. Moses

prophecies are true. The Torah was given to Moses for a reason. There will
be no other Torah. God knows everything people speak and do. God will
reward those deserving and punishes those who do wrong and the
messiah will come. Moses was chosen to lead Israel out of slavery.
Many religions in the word hope and pray for a future where someone or
something will restore all peace in the world, rescue the worthy and judge
the dreadful, in Judaism and Christianity, this is called the messiah. Once
he has come, the dead will be resurrected. Judaism doesnt believe that
the messiah will be divine, unlike Christianity, as God is completely perfect
and elevated above the means and could never be a human, where as the
messiah in Christianity was and is Jesus who was a person. In Judaism, the
Torah contains no specific reference to the messiah, however he is more
important to Christianity than Judaism, still the whole basis of Judaism
circulates around the messiah as that is the goal that is aimed to reach.
He is simply a mortal who will be our leader when we attain our goal of
universal peace on earth. Christianity hinges on the belief that without
the messiah, there in no atonement of sin. Jesus is known to be the
messiah, the entire religion is emphasised with the idea that Jesus was
perfect and the saviour of the people, without the messiah (Jesus)
Christianity would just be Judaism.
The concept of salvation in Judaism is communal. The salvation of one Jew
is directly linked to the salvation of the entire Jewish population. Moses
was called a saviour, as he was arguably the greatest Jewish leader ever.
Moses was the only person to ever see and speak to god face to face and
receive the Torah, as well as he was the first person in the world to openly
perform miracles. Moses had many extraordinary life events, from the
time he was born to the time he died at 120 years. Moses was the greatest
prophet Judaism had ever seen; this is what made him the saviour to
Jewish people. When mosses saved one Jew it was as if he was saving
everyone. Moses was born in a time in which pharaoh was ordering that
all make Jewish children must be thrown in the river (ex. 1:22) Moses
mother hid him for three months and when she could no longer hide him
she placed him in a basket in the river, miraculously pharaohs daughter
had found him and kept him as her own. (Ex. 2.6). Moses real sister Miriam
was hired as his nanny until he was three, there, she installed the love of
Judaism into mosses.
Moses was raised by pharaoh as one of his own and only later in life found
out he was in fact Jewish, Once he knew about his hidden religion he
knew it was up to him to save it from destruction. He first spoke to god
through the burning bush, who told him to free the Jews from slavery, he
listened to god and his aim was to free the Jewish people, he went to
pharaoh his un biological father and asked him to free them, pharaoh
said no as he did not want to loose his slaves, mosses warned him that if
he did not let them go many debauched, unthinkable plagues would
happen in Egypt to the only occur towards the Egyptians, pharaoh ignored
this and the plagues began .The first plague, water from the Nile river was
turned into blood, this was the Egyptians main source of water and it
stayed like the whole seven days. (Exodus 7:14-24) Plague number two
was an infestation of frogs throughout the land of Egypt. (Exodus 8:1-15).
Throughout the days the plagues got worse, however, pharaoh would not
give the Jews up. The third, an infestation of lice Exodus 8:16-19), by this

time pharaoh had begun to consider allowing the Jews to leave, however
he though it could not get worse and denied them freedom. Pharaoh was
very wrong, the fourth plague was flies (Exodus 8:20-32), fifth, disease on
all livestock (Exodus 9:1-7), boils was next (Exodus 9:8-12), hails, locust,
internal darkness and finally the worst of the lot, death of the first born
male. (Exodus 11). Pharaoh reluctantly agreed to the Jews leaving Egypt.
This was Moses first act of saviour as he had just freed All the Jewish
people form being slaves to pharaoh. This was the first of many times
Moses would save the Jews fork a certain death or misery. Many miracles
were performed from here on out. Moses was considered To be a saviour
as he taught people, who then taught people , fed the hungry, lead the
lost, precluded the Jews from slavery, saved the sick and ultimately saved
the Jewish population.
Christianity is the words largest religion it has over 2.4 billion followers
worldwide, its based on the teachings of the Son of God, Jesus who is the
central figure of Christianity, he is believed to be the messiah. Jesus is
known to be the redeemer and saviour in Christianity. Christianitys
definition of saviour is, one that saves us from the righteous wrath of god
of those who have sinned against him. The word saved and saviour is used
may times throughout the old and the New Testament. For today in the
city of David there has been born for you a Saviour, who is Christ the
Lord. (Luke 2:11) At the age of 30,he began his ministry where he
gathered 12 disciples who followed him throughout Israel as he went
though the land teaching and preforming miracles, similar to Moses as he
has 12 disciples follow him.
Jesus was named a saviour not only because of the many lifesaving,
outstanding miracles he performed physically, but manly because of the
miracles he performed spiritually. Christians believe that god sent his sonJesus- to earth to save humanity, he would reward the good and there
would be consequences for the bad. Jesus never did anything wrong, he
was all good and his aim in life was to encourage and inspire people to
ne the best that they could be. Jesus performed many physical miracles.
Some of the many miracles are closely similar to those of Moses. When
Jesus was 30 years of he turned water into wine, similar to mosses as he
turned water into blood, he cured the noblemans son (john 4:46) then the
great haul of fish was performed, where there was a lack of food, then
Jesus made fish fly at the people are they were able to feast, likewise,
Moses saved people by creating food in a comparable fashion (Luke 5:1)
Moses also raised people from the dead, this stared attracting people as
he was Saving and healing people which began to contribute to him
becoming the salvation image of Christianity. We have seen and testify
that the Father has sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.(John
4:14) Meaning that Jesus was brought to the world for a reason.
Jesus had a large following after these miracles, however he knew that the
romans were conspiring against him and were planning to kill him, but him
being the noble man he was, knew this and did not tell anyone until the
night before at the last supper .The romans captured and crucified Jesus,
they nailed him to a cross though his hand and feet and left him to there
die, thus creating the Christianity symbol. Jesus did not stop, nor fight
against this, as he knew that if he died it would take away everyones sin
and make the people pure. Jesus died for his people, witch is what gave

him the salvation title, and he saved everyone from a life of living hell
due to impurity. Three days later, Jesus was resurrected and for 40 days
Jesus taught his followers. Resurrection is extremely important to
Christianity as it proves that Jesus was like no other. It is believed that
Jesus was the messiah and will one day return.
Christians often believe that Jesus was the greatest saviour that has ever
lived, they believe he was a more deserving of the title saviour than
Moses was as Moses was just a prophet. Moses and Jesus were extremely
influential and important people who led the way, saved, created paths,
taught and guided people have been given the title of saviours. Both of
these en had very strong ethics and morals as well as great teachers and
leaders, These characteristics led people to follow in there footsteps and
encouraged people to be kind, Christianity and Judaism have alike
characteristics that can be explored closely, Moses and Jesus were both
the greatest people to ever lead.
