Airplanepropulsionandenergygenerationtechniquesofmodernandpastaircraftare
inefficient,expensive,causespollution,andthefuelaircraftuseishighlyvolatile.Many
accidentshaveoccurredbecauseofthevolatilityanddangerofusingfueltopoweran
airliner,causingnumerouscasualtiessuchastheTenerifeDisasterinMarch27,1977which
killed583passengers(SmithP,March27,2014).Thecauseofdeathshappenedbecauseof
humanerrorwhichledtothefireignitedbyfuelandenginesdisintegratingduetotheir
fuelconsumingdesign.Withtheairplanealreadyhavinghazardouscomponentsitmakesit
evenmoredifficultfortopreventanyaccidentsduetopiloterrors.
Wewilldevelopandtestaliquidnitrogenpoweredmagneticallypropelledturbine
thatwillprovidesufficientthrustforaircraft,andwillalsoremovetheneedforhazardous
fueloroverlycomplexmotorsforbothjetpoweredandpropellerpoweredaircraft.Itwillalso
makeaircraftemissionfree,andultraquiet.
Thisnewdesignwillhelptheairlineindustryinmanydifferentways.Thenew
turbineswillbeofanultrabypassdesign,whichwillbeevenmoreenergyefficientand
strongerthantraditionalhighorlowbypassengines.Theturbinescanalsobebuiltoutof
cheapyetstrongpolymersormetalsthatdontneedtomeetheatstandardssincetherewillbe
noflames.Boththegeneratorandtheturbineswillbeincrediblyquietcomparedtoanyother
poweredflyingaircraftsincethereisnocombustionandelectromagnetsmakeverylittle
noise.Thisquietnesscanallowtheplanetolandinverydensepopulatedareaswithout
disturbingthepeoplelivingthere.Liquidnitrogencanalsobecreatedfromtheatmosphere,
sincealargeportionofitismadeupofnitrogen.Thiswillallowtheaircrafttoflyextremely
longdistanceswithouthavingtolandtorefuel.
Anotherbenefittoremovingtheuseofcombustionenginesandreplacingthemwith
liquidnitrogenisthatithasnodangerwhenitcomestoanaircrashoraccident.Ifaplane
crasheswithfuelonboarditmayhaveachanceofexplodingorcatchingfire.Whereasifa
planeweretocrashwithliquidnitrogeninitswings,thenassoonastheliquidnitrogenwas
exposedtotheexteriortemperaturearoundtheaccident,itwouldevaporaterapidlyleaving
nothingbehindfuelsourcewisetocauseanyinjuries(SudusinghaJ,Jan25,2015).Ifanon
boardfireweretooccur,youcouldalsoreroutetheliquidnitrogentothearewherethefire
isburningandstripitofitsoxygen.
Theseturbineswillalsobeabletorunforsignificantlylongerperiodsasyouwont
needtoworryaboutmetalfatigueormetalfracturesasmuch,norwouldyouhavetobe
concernedwithpipingforoilintheenginestocoolit,astheenginewontgenerateanyheat
itself.
