The following assembly and installation instructions describe the assembly of an antenna with an offset fine mount AFM, and installation onto a tower and/or
an antenna pole with pipe diameter from 42mm up to 115mm.

1 ft. antenna

All instructions are intended for qualified and skilled personnel only. Following these instructions will help you avoid improper installation. Please read carefully
all notes and pictures prior to assembling.
This package contents all parts belonging to the antenna: parabolic dish, feeder, radome, offset mount AFM, and all fasteners.
Standard package does not contain installation tools.

Important note

We recommend that installed antenna shall be inspected once per year to verify safety and
condition. It is also a good idea to compare RSSI results over time to make sure the antenna is
loose or there is movement of the mounting structure.
It is important that mounting structures, towers, pipes, tripods etc. be fixed so that there is no
excess movement. Radial, twisting, of the structure is much worse than axial movement, but
no movement is best.
ALCOMA disclaims any responsibility for improper or unsafe installation. Please follow
recommended safety procedures for assembling the antenna (page 3) and the mount (page 4)
in dangerous locations, height, (on Towers, Roofs, etc.) Please follow all local safety codes for
mechanical and electrical installation. National and local codes should be followed. Alcoma
disclaims any responsibility for improper installation by untrained personnel.

Assembling instructions
1. See Fig. 1 for Radome and Shackle placing prior to assembling.
(All pictures are being shown typically with Left side offset installation at the antenna pole.)
2. Feeder is a precision made microwave part of the antenna. Handle with care!
3. Read all important recommendations related to Radome s Screw Rivets before the Radome will be
attached onto the
antenna dish.
4. If the reflection absorber has been applied inside the Radome please do not touch it otherwise it will
make your hands dirty.

LEFT OFFSET INSTALLATION SHOWN

Assembling instruction

Fig. 5

Mount assembly is identical for Left and/or Right side antenna offset installation

1. See Fig. 5 for optimal clamp assembling according to

antenna pole pipe diameter prior to antenna
installation.
2. Do not tighten Lock Nut until the Mount will be
properly assembled onto antenna pole.
3. The antenna Mount is symmetrical. The same
assembly is applied for Left side offset AND/OR Right
side offset installation of the antenna. See Fig. 6.

Fig. 6

www.alcoma.com ALCOMA a.s. 106 00, Prague 10, Vinova 11 - Czech Republic

4. Do not over tighten any fasteners over permissible

load.
For common M10 size bolt A2-70 stainless steel grade
tightening torque must not exceed 35 Nm (25.8 lb ft).

2. Main clamp is designed to be held by screw clamps (with oval

head). See Fig. 10
3. Dont forgets that the mount must be roughly adjusted better
than 10 before finalfastening. See Fig. 11
4. The clamps should be tightened according to Fig. 12. dia. 85 up to

Advice

Combination Spanner

Proceed carefully; antenna pointing requires a fine touch.

A 3 dB loss in signal requires only slight miss alignment. See datasheet.
Although the Mount has been accurately made, small play may be noticed when adjusting
elevation. It is normal behaviour for this adjusting mechanism.

LOCK ADJUSTING

UNLOCK ADJUSTING
Fine adjustment

For fine adjustment the Mount must be pre-tensioned according to

recommendations below.
