Course Description: Welcome to Career Prep! This course is designed to


provide opportunities for students to participate in a learning experience that
combines classroom instruction with paid business and industry employment
experiences. The goal is to prepare students with a variety of skills for a fastchanging workplace.

Attendance/Absence Policy
In the event that a student is absent, it is the students responsibility to collect any
notes, assignments, tests, or activities missed from. Students will have the number
of days missed to complete and turn in the assignment missed. Once the number of
days missed has come up, then the late policy will go into effect.
Make-Up Work: Students who are absent from class for any reason are
allowed two school days to make up the missed work.
Late Work: Late work will be accepted within one week from the due date of
the original assignment. A 30 point deduction will apply to all late work.

Academic Dishonesty: Students found to have engaged in academic


dishonesty will receive a zero on the assignment or exam, will not be allowed
to make up the zero, and shall be subject to the disciplinary penalties
according to the Student Code of Conduct. Academic dishonesty includes,
but is not limited to, cheating, copying of another students work, plagiarism,

and unauthorized communication between students during assignments or


exams.
For the protection of privacy and identity, it is the students responsibility to
LOG OFF the lab computer before leaving class.
Computer Use: Students will use school computers as part of their
classroom assignments. Each student will take care of the computer,
keyboard, and mouse on their desk, as well as those in the surrounding
areas, to the best of their abilities. The following actions will not be tolerated:
stealing, writing on equipment, computer hacking, visiting any website
without permission, turning off another students computer, unplugging
computer components, or anything else that could be considered destructive
or abusive.
The student understands his/her responsibility to immediately report any
vandalized and/or broken equipment or surrounding areas to the teacher.
If caught stealing or vandalizing the equipment or surrounding areas in any
way, the student will be responsible for paying all damages and will be
disciplined accordingly.
Classroom Conduct: Students are expected to behave as young,
responsible, respectful adults. All students must ask permission, sign out,
and obtain a pass to use the restroom. One student is allowed in the
restroom at a time. Per school policy, students will not be allowed to use the
restroom 10 minutes after and/or before the bell.
No outside food or drinks will be allowed in the classroom as this is a
computer lab.
Cell phones and other personal electronic devices should not be used and/or
taken out during class time unless otherwise instructed by the teacher. Any
cell phone or other personal electronic device visible or in use during class
time will be confiscated by the teacher.
Remind: Parents and students are encouraged to join Remind as an avenue
for reminders and other pertinent classroom information.
