Caution : * The phone should be placed in cool, dry, ventilated, Non-toxic place and not nearer to computer ,TV, Refrigerator , bathroom etc * Caller ID function will work only after you have subscribed for the service in the local telecom company. * If the voltage of the battery is low, the Green back lit, Melody rings, Parallel call Transfer functions will not work. Please change the batteries. | Things to be taken care of When using your telephone equipment, the following basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury to persons: « Read and understand all instructions for best performance of product. * Do not expose LCD in the sun for long time. * Please answer the call after the unit rings twice, otherwise there are chances that caller party's number may not be come in your telephone. Initial Settings * Set Year, month, date & time (refer page 5 ) * Set local Area code (refer page 5 ) * SetLCD contrast as per your requirement (refer page 5 ) * Set the telephone to TONE/PULSE mode as per your telephone Network through programmable setting (refer page 7 ) * Set Ring Melody as per your choice (Refer page 7 ) | 3 LCD Descriptions i LCD Icons Description These displays show some important icons. HARM A satire wrt a| | ema revert OA 10,8, In standby state, LCD displays the current month and day (October 8th). When checking incoming calls, itis used for showing the called date. 20:08: In standby state, LCD displays the current time (Eight past eight o'clock p.m). When checking outgoing calls, it is used for showing the conversation duration time and it is used for showing the called time during checking incoming calls. ALM: Displayed when alarm clockis activated. [IL : Displayed when the batteries voltage is less than 4.0V. IN: Displayed when checking incoming calls and it can also be displayed in standby state if there are incoming calls in the memory. OUT: Displayed when checking outgoing calls. NEW: Displayed and flickers when there are incoming calls which was not answered and not reviewed yet. REP: Displayed when same numberis received for more than once. 18: Indicate the total of incoming calls in standby state, or the sequence of incoming or outgoing call during checking incoming/outgoing calls. When you choose one item, press SET key again to go into its setting. After finishing with one item, pressing SET key can also enter next setting item fleetly. Ifyou want to quit setting anytime, press DEL key to perform. Setting date & time * — Inon-hook state. * Press SET key, LCD displays SET 1 DATE, press SET key, the year 2009 value flashes. * Press a/+ or w/-key to edit the year. * Press SET key to confirm and enter the next value month setting. * Follow same steps to set month, date and time. * After setting, press SET key to confirm and enter nextitem setting. Setting Local Area Code and Long Distance Code * In on-hook state, press SET key. Then press a/+ one time. LCD displays SET 2 CODE. Press SET key. LCD displays CODE 0----- and the long distance code”0"flashes. * Press a/+ or w/- key to set the flashing code from 0 to 9 or-. * Press SET key to confirm, follow same steps to finish the rest code setting. Press SET key to confirm and enter the nextitem setting. Note: 1. Keep 1stflashing digit “0” only in order to add “0” in long distance call back, 2. The Local area code is the STD code of the city (Area), where the telephone is connected e.g. For Delhi: 11 please SET 011 --- in the local area code setting for Delhi city. For Chandigarh 172, please SET 0172- in local area code setting for city Chandigarh Adjusting LCD Contrast * In on-hook state, press SET key. Then press a/+ twice. LCD displays SET 3LCD. Press SET key. LCD display LCD 08 * Press a/+ or w/- key to adjust the contrast of LCD, total 16 levels can be selected. * Press SET key to confirm and enter the next item setting. Note: 1) with New batteries keep LCD contrastat level 4 or 5 2) Alternatively in on-hook state, press FLASH/+ key to enter LCD Contrast setting Directly, then press FLASH/+ key continuously to adjust the LCD contrast. Setting flash time * In on-hook state, press SET key. Then press a/* three times. LCD displays SET 4 FLASH. Press SET key. LCD display FLASH 300 * Press a/+ or v/- key to set the flash time, flash time can be set at 1000ms, 600ms, 300ms or 100ms. * Press SET key to confirm and quit. Setting Alarm Clock * — Inon-hook state, press ALARM key once, LCD displays 12-00 AL4, * Press a/+ or w/- key to select ON or OFF, when select ON, LCD displays “ALM” icon. * Press SET key, “12” start to flash. * Press a /+ or v/- key to set the alarm hour and press SET key to confirm and enter alarm minute setting. * Press a /+ or v/- key to set the alarm minute and press SET key to confirm and goto next group alarm clock setting. * Press SET key to confirm and go to next alarm clock setting. + Followsame steps to the other alarm clocks. Note: 1) Out of total 5 Alarms, The first three (Ordinary) alarm clocks are active in periodical and the last 2 are single time (Melody) alarm only. 2) This feature will not work without batteries. TRANSFER BETWEEN PARALLEL PHONES Setting paging number * Inon-hook state, press and hold SET key, LCD displays EL * Key in“*” and the paging number (example “*1”and”2” ), using DEL key to edit * Press SET key to confirm and exit. Intercom between two parallel Phones Intercom conversation can be done between two parallel phones. Dial paging number of Parallel phone, for example *2 , As a result music starts coming on parallel phone , Pick up the handset or Press | Key , Do conversation and Keep handset again on base or press Speaker key . Transferring the call between parallel phones:- When a call comes, use one of paralleled phone to answer. Press”*” and the paging number that was set in another telephone unit (the operation should be done within 30 seconds after you answer the call. If it is more than 30 seconds, the transfer operation is not available or Set Flash time to 100ms then if you want to transfer the call after 30 seconds , Please press Flash key followed by paging number of parallel phone ), the unit rings, pick up its handset or press (| key to answer the incoming call. Note: 4. Atstandby state, press ”*” and the paging number that was set in another telephone unit, the unit rings, pick up its handset or press (| key to perform conversation in- house (this function just for your selection). 2. Please use same series phones to transfer as above operation. If the paging number is set, anti-steal dialing function will not work. Any special services starting with “*” offered by your Telephone company may not function properly. To get the best effect of this function, you should load the batteries before using. MUTE FUNCTION When making a phone call, if you need a temporary talk with someone else and you don’t want the phone receiver hear you're speaking, press MUTE key to mute your voice sending, and LCD displays mute. Press MUTE key again to return to conversation mode. Anti-Steal dialing Function * — Inon-hook state, press and hold #/= key for 3 seconds, LCD displays SPI ON * Presi] key twice, then press and hold #/=key again, LCD displays SPI OFF, After set anti-dialing mode at ON state, when one wants to dial a number from the parallel phone, the parallel phone generates “di-di, di-di” beep continuously and not allowed to make a call. m NOTE: If page number for parallel call transfer is set this function will not work. To get this feature make paging number EL--. Setting dialing mode * — Inon-hook state, press and hold */. Key for3 seconds, LCD displays P, and then dialing mode is set as Pulse. * Press (| key twice and hold */. Key for 3 seconds again, LCD displays T, and then dialing mode is set as Tone. NOTE: The default mode is TONE. Setting ringing tone and ringing Volume There are 5 kinds of normal ringing tone, 4 kinds of Melody rings and ringing OFF for selection: * — Inon-hook state, press RING key, LCD displays ring 01 db5 * Press and release RING key to select the desired ringer, * Press a/*or v/-key to adjust the ringing volume * Press SET key to confirm and quit. NOTE:1) The volume ranges from 1db-5db, with 5db being the loudest. Ring OFF is “Do Not Disturb” mode. Ifthe phones set to this mode, the felephone will not ring when there isan incoming call. 2) Battery current consumption will be high for 4 kinds of Polyphonic rings. Hence battery life will be less. 3) Melody rings will not work without batteries. Adjust Speakerphone volume In Speakerphone state, Press a /+ or w/- key to adjust the hands free volume, LCD displays the volume level r(),(]).1(])),0(]))) in 3 steps. Setting EPBAX code * Inon-hook state, press and hold DEL key for 3 seconds to set PABX code, LCD displays SET PCODE - and the”-” flashes. * Press 4 /+or w/-key to set PABX code from 0 to 9 or-. * — Ifchoose”-”, it means no PABX code has been set. * Press SET key to confirm and quit. ONE TOUCH MEMORY OPERATION Store the number in one-touch memory * — Pre-dial the desired number. * Press STORE key, LCD displays STORE. * Press Mi(i=1~6) key to store the number. Make a call from one-touch memory * — In off-hook or on-hook state, press Mi(i=1~6) key directly to dial out the stored number. * Or in on-hook state press STORE key, LCD displays RECALL, then press Mi(i=1~6) key to display the stored number, pick up the handset or press (jor REDIAL key to dial it out. Low battery detection * When the voltage is lower than 3.9V, LCD displays “=s" icon to remind the user toreplace the batteries. LCD backlight function * The Green backlight is turned on when receiving an incoming call, dialing, pressing any key. *NOTE: This feature will not work without batteries. Flash function * Pickup the handset or press “I()” key + Press “FLASH” Key the telephone line will break for 300 ms (This feature is provided in the telephone to access the facility offered by some EPBAX such as line transfer or network service by telephone companies such as Call waiting etc.) Pause function When dial a number, press PAUSE key, the unit will give a 3.6 seconds interval. We recommend you to press the “PAUSE” Key Ifa pause is required for dialing with EPBAX to access a long distance code. On pressing the “PAUSE” key it will introduce a delay of 3.6 sec between two digits dialed before and after the pause. Calculator function Inon-hook state, press CAL key, LCD displays 0-, the unitis in calculator state. The unit is available for operation of “+.-. x.+", in the calculator state, #/= key is used a ‘and the */. Key is used as “.", OUT/x and FLASH/+ are used as x and+ respectively. a/+or v/-key is used as sign of positive/negative. Eg.1 (10+26) + * Inon-hook state, press CALCULATOR key * Press (1,0, +, 2, 6), +,2,#/=keys * Aftercalculated, press SET key to quit. Eg.2 (0.5% 0.6-1) + Inon-hook state, press CALCULATOR key + Press 0,*/., 5, *, 0, */.,6, -,1,#/= keys * Aftercalculated, press SET key to quit. Phone Operation RECEIVING ACALL * When a call comes, the telephone rings, and LCD displays the seq. number of the call, the date, time, incoming number and NEW icon. The NEW LED indicator will flash when missed calls. * Ifthe same number has come twice or more and has not been checked, LCD displays REP icon * When incoming memory is full, the last incoming number is always replacing the oldest number. NOTE: For the phone to display incoming number and other information, you must have an active Caller ID subscription with your local telephone exchange company. From handset:- * Pick up the handset and Speak to other end. * After the conversation, Place the handset on the base. Switch to speakerphone * When talking by handset, press (| key and return the handset to the base ((ICON will displayed on LCD). * After finished, press (| key again. From Speaker Phone:- * When the unit rings, press «(] key and talk to the caller. For the other party to hear your voice clearly, speak into the speaker from a distance of 32cm or less. * After finishing the conversation, press (| key again. NOTE: Generally telecom transmits the incoming message between the first ring and the second ring. So please answer the phone after the second ring. MAKINGACALL From handset * Pickup the handset. * When hearing the dialing tone, dial the desired number & speak to other end. * _ After finishing the conversation, return the handset to the base. From Speakerphone + Press (| key * When hearing the dialing tone, dial the desired number & speak to other end, for the other party to hear your voice clearly, speak into the speaker from a distance of 32cm orless. * After finishing the conversation, press | key again. 10 Pre-dialing function * — Inon-hook state * Dialthe desired number, if any mistake use DEL key to edit. + Press ((] key or pick up the handset the number dialed will be auto-dialed out. Redial: * Pickup handsetor press ((] key, «Press REDIAL key, the last dialed number is dialed again REVIEWING, CALLING BACK AND DELETING INCOMING NUMBERS Reviewing + Inon-hook state or off-hook state (pick up handset), press a/+ or vi- key to review the desired number frontward or backwards. When all numbers are reviewed, LCD displays --END--. Deleting * Inon-hook state, when review the desired number, press DEL key, the number get deleted. Press and hold DEL key for 3 seconds; all the incoming numbers will get deleted. Calling back In on-hook state: * Reviewto the desired number, press (| key or pick up the handset, the number is dialed out, or Press REDIAL key, the numberis dialed out. * Press REDIAL key, the numberis dialed out. * _ Ifthe long distance codes set, call back the long distance call number as follows. When review to the desired long distance call number, press REDIAL key twice, the number will be dialed out adding the long distance code before it automatically. * Ifthe PABX code is set, When review to the desired number, press REDIAL key, the telephone will add the PABX code before the number automatically. It will dial the PABX code first and then after a 2 second pause and then dial the number. In off-hook state (pick up handset): Pick up handset, press a/+ or v/- key to review the desired number, then press REDIAL key and the number is dialed out. Prevent FSK message auto-adjust real time When a FSK message comes, the unit adjusts real time automatically, the user also can preventit from auto-adjust real time as following: * In on-hook state, press and hold ALARM key for 3 seconds, LCD displays DATE OFF, 1 + Press ALARM key again, LCD displays DATE ON, * Press SET key to quit. NOTE: DATE OFF means: notallow auto-adjust real time. REVIEWING, CALLING BACK AND DELETING OUTGOING NUMBERS Reviewing In on-hook or off-hook state, press OUT/x key, then repeat to press OUT/x key to review outgoing number messages one by one. Calling back * — Inon-hook state, press OUT/* key to review the desired number, and then pick up the handset or press ((] key or press REDIAL key, the number will get dialed out. * — Inoff-hook state, press OUT/xkey to review the desired number, press REDIAL, key, the numberis dialed out. Deleting * — Inon-hook state, press OUT/* key to review the desired number, * Press DEL key, the desired number gets deleted. * Press and hold DEL key for 3 seconds, then all outgoing numbers will get deleted. NOTES: Please unplug telephone line and power (Ifany) when install or replace batteries 12 Trouble Shooting NoRing * Checkif the handsetis on the phone or line is broken. * Checkifthe RINGis in the OFF state, resetit. Receive only * — Checkif P/T mode is properly set. Battery rust or leak * Remove the rust or wipe out the leaking liquid. Noise * — Checkif the circuitis broken. (Change the circuit) * — Check if the connector is moist or rust (Change the connector) Ring once then disconnect when receive a call. Dialing function is available * Check if connectors in a moist environment. * Check if too many extensions are used together or the quality of extension is not good enough (Change the bad extension) LCD become dim * — Cheok if LCD contrast is properly set or battery is in low-battery state. (Adjust LCD contrast, if the LCD is still dim, replace the battery.) Noring * — Check if the RING is in the OFF state, resetit. Most of the functions failed * Check if the battery is in low-battery state. (Change the battery) If battery is in normal state (Remove the battery, unplug the lines and reinstall after 10 minutes) NOTE: Due to continuous product development all features and specifications are subject to change without prior notice 13 “|
