Once upon a time, the land of Java was ruled by Prabu Watu Gunung from Galuh

Kingdom. Prabu Watu Gunung was blessed with four children. They were Dyah
Ayu Dewi, Adipati Dewata Cengkar, Adipadi Dewata Pemunah Sakti, and the last
Adipati Dewata Agung.
The people of Galuh didnt like Dewata Cengkar, because his attitude was
abusive and he liked to persecute the other people. Moreover, he loved to eat
human. It made the people of Galuh who used to live peacefully turned into fear.
They started to leave their hometown to seek for protection. When Prabu Watu
Gunung knew that the culprit was his own son, he was so angry and ashamed.
He ordered Dewata Cengkar to leave the palace. With the troops who were still
loyal to him, Dewata Cengkar fled Eastward in the middle of the night. They
stopped when they reached a beautiful and strategic place. Dewata Cengkar
began to build his own kingdom, Medang Kamolan. To assist his government, he
pointed his friends, Arya Tengger and Ruda Peksa.
After Medang Kamolan became famous and prosperous, Arya Tengger and Ruda
Peksa persuaded Dewata Cengkar to take revenge to his father. Then, Dewata
Cengkar invaded Galuh Kingdom with his troops. Prabu Watu Gunung led his
troops in the battlefield to face his son.
Dewata Cengkar, is this how a child return the favor to his parent? I am your
father, one day Galuh Kingdom will be yours, but not by this way.
I dont need your advice anymore, Father. Come on, kill me! Lets fight!
Be patient, my son. What you do is wrong.
Oh, shut up! Just give me the kingdom.
I will. But it cant be now.
Listening the last sentence uttered by Prabu Watu Gunung, Dewata Cengkar lift
his bludgeon and stroke it on Prabu Watu Gunungs body. Dewata Cengkar killed
his own father.
The people of Medang Kamolan prepared a feast for his victory. The women were
busy preparing the cuisine, but unlucky a woman accidentally cut of her little
finger, then she went to bandage it, but what a surprise, when she returned the
cut of her little finger could not be found. It seemed that Dewata Cengkar
accidentally ate the piece of the little finger. It made his penchant of eating
human arose. He ordered Arya Tengger to find the sacrifice to be his meal. First,
the sacrifice were the prisoners. But when the prisoners in the jail were not left
out, the sacrifice turn to the youth. But then, Dewata Cengkar was bored and he
ordered Arya Tengger to find young women flesh. Arya Tengger and Ruda Peksa
were confused about where they had to find the other sacrifice. Luckily, one of
Ruda Peksas subordinates found that there was a young woman named Roro
Cangkek.
In the other hand, there was someone named Ajisaka that came to Java with his
two servants, Dora and Sembada. They were surprised because many people left
Medang Kamolan. They continued their journey until they reached Roro

Cangkeks house. Ajisaka asked permission to use the restroom. Then the rooster
that was owned by Roro Cangkek drank Ajisakas urine.
The next day, the troops of Dewata Cengkar came to bring Roro Cangket to be
the meal of their king. Ajisaka was willing to be sacrificed instead of Roro
Cangket. Then, he faced Dewata Cengkar.
Young man, dont you know why you are brought here?
No, I dont, Your Highness.
You will be my meal.
I am willing, Your Highness, but please allow me to ask something as the last
wish.
Spit it out!
I want a land as wide as the turban I tied on my head, Your Highness.
Thats it? Okay, I will fulfill it.
But I want Your Highness be the one who measure it.
Fine then.
On the execution day, the measurement was held by Dewata Cengkar himself.
Miraculously, the turban was not stopped spread out. It got wider and wider. But
Dewata Cengkar kept measuring until the South Sea cliffs. Because of fatigue, he
slipped and hanged on the cliffs.
Ajisaka, I give up, I admit defeat. I will give you my kingdom as long as you save
me.
The request was not fulfilled by Ajisaka. He released the hands of Dewata
Cengkar so that he fell into the South Sea. Surprisingly, Dewata Cengkar
transformed into a white crocodile.
After Ajisaka crowned as the king of Medang Kamolan, the people returned to the
kingdom and lived prosperously. In the other hand, the rooster who used to drink
Ajisakas urine laid an egg just like a hen. Oneday, the egg hatched became a
giant snake. The snake wanted to meet his father, Ajisaka. For the first time,
Ajisaka didnt want to admit the snake as his son, then the snake told him about
his pedigree.
Okay, I will admit you as my son if you are able to defeat the white crocodile in
the South Sea.
According to Ajisakas order, the snake should not be passing on the ground
when returning to Medang, so the snake was passing along the underground.
Since he thought that he had reached his destination, he came to the surface.
Apparently he was wrong because it was still far away. For the first time, he
appeared in Jono, then in Crewek, and the third time in Kuwu. In this third
appearance, something strange happened. The hole soon recovered, full of mud,
and followed by the sound *Bledug *Bledug *Bledug, until now. Since then, the
place is called as Bledug Kuwu.
