withthefurtherprovisionthattheeffectivedoseshallnotexceed50mSvinanyoneyear.Formembersofthepublictheeffective
doselimittothewholebodyis1mSvperyear.
Ifthedosereportindicatesthattheworkerhasreceivedadoseinexcessofthedoselimit,hisemployershallsendhimfora
medicalexaminationincludingafullbloodexaminationandheshallbesuspendedfromradiationworkforanappropriateperiod
oftime.InvestigationsshallbemadebythelicenseeandRPNSDtoascertainthecauseoftheexcessivedoseandmeasures
takentoensurethattheaccidentorincidentdoesnothappenagain.
Theoccupationaldoselimitforwomenwhoarenotpregnantisthesameasthatformen,butoncepregnancyisdeclared,the
equivalentdoselimittothesurfaceofthewoman'sabdomenshallbe2mSvfortheremainderofthepregnancy.
Alltheabovedoselimitsdonotincludethedosefromanymedicalordentalexposureasapatientorfromtheexposuretonatural
background.
