Started in a small room of 120 square feet on 26th May, 1992 in Hyderabad with one centre,
T.I.M.E. has just completed 24 years of service to the student community helping to build a
few hundred thousand careers along the way. T.I.M.E. is today acknowledged as a multilocation, multi-programme training specialist run on corporate lines and offers a wide range
of programmes not only for national and state-level entrance exams like the CAT, MAT, JEE
MAIN and JEE ADVANCED, but also for international exams like GMAT, GRE, IELTS and
TOEFL.

PRINCIPLES
T.I.M.E has a well defined set of goals which guide the working of all the TIME centers. All
the members of TIME consider these goals as supreme and they try to observer these
principles both in letter and in spirit at all times.
1. Provide highest quality education to students.
2. Give students more than what we promise them.
3. Charge very reasonable fees without compromising on the quality of inputs that we
give.
4. Act in the best interests of students at all times.

Structure
TIME today operates out of 236 offices located in 112 towns. The offices are well structured.
Most of the offices function as a franchisee of TIME.
Each franchisee is broadly divided into divisions based on the discipline of education they
offer. Each franchisee has a management team, headed by the director, which looks into the
overall functioning of the center. Within the center, there are divisions such as Engineering,
Medical, MBA, International, Bank Test etc. based on the various fields of education. Each
division has its own management team, headed by a professor. Divisions also have a team of
faculty specializing in their respective domains. Some divisions are further divided into sub
divisions depending on the entrance exam that they focus on. For instance, Engineering
division has a department each for IIT-JEE, AIEEE, State entrance exams etc. while MBA
division has a department each for CAT, CMAT, GMAT etc.
This structured approach comes with a lot of benefits. Having an office function as a
franchisee makes the management team work towards expanding the office independently.
Moreover, the management team practically owns the franchisee, thus promoting dedication
among them.
By dividing the franchisee into various divisions, they are able to focus on different fields of
education. There is knowledge sharing between divisions, and the subject matter experts tend
to focus their efforts on their own domain. By further dividing the divisions based on the
different exams, they can cater to the specific needs of each exam. As a result, a student is
able to focus specifically on his/her target exam.
External Environment.

Entrance test preparation market in year 2015 was worth $4.2 Billion in the year 2015. Moreover, the
market exhibits a growth trend of 20% per year. Out of this 60% of the market is equally shared by
FIIT-JEE, Career Launcher and T.I.M.E. TIME training portfolio includes both engineering test
preparation and management test preparations along with GRE, TOEFL and IBT training. Thus, gets
competition from almost all players in the industry. Increase in competition at graduate and post
graduate level, has directed students towards reliable coaching institutes and even though the fee
requirements are increased the response for coaching institutes is ever increasing. T.I.M.E reported
turnover of about $22 million in year 2006-07 and witnessed growth at compound annual growth rate
of 60% in 5 years with turnover of $46 million in year 2015-16. With an annual 10% increase in CAT
aspirants per year and little increase in the available seats the demand for premiere coaching institutes
is justified. The deterrent for these institutes is the general negative public perception, which is has
justified reasons. They are criticized for their high fees which makes them inaccessible by the poor
strata and rigorous training which sometimes results in burnout in students. This results in
intervention by authorities on the request of masses. However these institutes have managed to
survive due to ever increasing demand in spite of the negative factors.

Strategy
Time Institute is structured on a corporate model with both owned and franchise business centres. As
the test preparation market is content based and process driven, T.I.M.E. has focussed on standardized
content and study material. It updates the course material of all subjects considering the trend in
questions and their difficulty levels. After the success of correspondence courses TIME has
dynamically increased its number of centres through granting franchises all over India. In addition to
