directly to the viewer's imagination. Collins` unadorned language and
appreciation for the mundane welcomes readers to slip into profound
observation on the everyday events. The writer not only addresses the
audience directly, describing all suburban, domestic and real worlds,
but he also explores its most serious preoccupations. Animated videos
let Collins fire the popular imagination with his contemporary style and
present inventive subject matter that help us feel the mystery of being
alive. Collins has the ability to observe with accuracy things as they are
in themselves, and with fidelity to describe them, unmodified by any
passion or feeling. These recordings(?) capture readers with Collins`
profound insight and thought-provoking image s. Rarely has anyone
written poems that appear so transparent on the surface but become
so ambiguous once the reader analyses them carefully.
Collins poem Forgetfulness warns the audience about memory loss
later in life:
Whatever it is you are struggling to remember,
it is not poised on the tip of your tongue,
not even lurking in some obscure corner of your spleen.
The writer also makes reference to death appealing to the viewers and
tries to transmit them that those of all who remain dear to us will still be
here, always.
The dead are always looking down on us, they say,
while we are putting on our shoes or making a sandwich,
they are looking down through the glass-bottom boats of heaven
as they row themselves slowly through eternity.
He also writes Some Days , which makes a contrast between having
control and being controlled. In life you can either be a follower, the
one who is "lifted up by the ribs, then lowered into the dining room of a
dollhouse, or a leader, the one who "put[s] the people in their places at
the table."Another theme highlighted in the poem is the uncertainty that
lies with each day. One day you might have control over something,
