Requirements on pages 2-4.
I.

Description
This Work Type includes comprehensive landscape architectural design services for Hennepin County
multimodal transportation projects which may include: landscaping, streetscaping, site development,
aesthetics, specialty signing, specialty lighting, fencing, and traffic-calming.

Standards and Specifications


Standards and specifications required for a project under this work type may include the following:

The American Association of State Highway & Transportation Officials (AASHTO), Federal Highway
Administration (FHWA), and MnDOT or Hennepin County design guidelines, policies, procedures,
practices and standards.
Deliverables may include a documented Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plan with each
review and submittal to address comments from previous reviews, i.e. 30%, 90%, and 100% or
schematic design, design development, and construction bid set that includes specifications, demo
plans, planting plans, etc.

Complete and accurate set(s) of Landscape Architectural design documents or design plans to construct a
project that fulfills Hennepin Countys intended purpose may include the following:

Concept Sketches
Preliminary Design
Visual Quality Management Manuals
Design documentation and calculations
Special Provisions
Cost estimates
Reports
Meeting Minutes
Presentation materials, graphic renderings, visualizations/models, and product samples.
Feasibility and justification studies, including related calculations
Final Design Plans, produced using Hennepin County and MnDOTs design guidelines and standards
and Hennepin County CADD standards.

Key Personnel Requirements


Key Personnel are those who are responsible for management of projects within the firm, who have direct
management responsibilities for specific projects, and / or who are the project manager with client liaison
responsibilities. Key Personnel must have prior experience in the specific Work Type for which the firm is seeking
qualification.
Required Minimum of
Key Personnel:

At least one licensed Minnesota Landscape Architect

Key Personnel must have experience in the following:

Knowledge and implementation of landscape architecture


design, transportation design and development practices, and
industry best practices

Knowledge and implementation of environmentally


sustainable approaches and practices

Knowledge and implementation of projects that include design


of American with Disabilities Act (ADA)

Knowledge and implementation of context sensitive solutions,


philosophy, and principles

Knowledge and familiarity with local plant materials

Firm Capacity Requirements


Production Staff:

Work Type Submittal Requirements*
I. Project Experience
(Submit in PDF format)

Complete Forms PQ1 and PQ2 in full. No other materials will be considered for
qualification.
PQ1:
Part 1: GENERAL AND PERSONNEL INFORMATION
A. Identify all Key Personnel for this Work Type in Part 1 of PQ1 including
the requested information for each person.
B. If there are other personnel who have experience in this work type but
are not Key Personnel, they may be identified in the second half of this
section.
Part 2: INVOLVEMENT IN EXAMPLE PROJECTS
For each Key Personnel listed in Part 1, identify their role(s) in the
Example Projects (Part 2) by placing an x in the box corresponding to the
projects listed within Involvement In Example Projects.
A. At least one Key Personnel must document that they managed or
developed a minimum of four projects in last 10 years representative
of the identified transportation landscape architectural design
deliverables (Item III, Page 1) in Minnesota or other areas with
comparable climates and conditions.
B. Experience of other professional and technical personnel used to support
the specific Work Type may also be provided.

PQ2:
QUALIFYING EXAMPLE PROJECT EXPERIENCE
A. Submit a minimum of four project examples from the last 10 years of
transportation landscape architectural design deliverables. Describe
each project example in a separate PQ2 form.
B. At least one project example should provide a good representative
example of the following plan sheets: Title Sheet, Estimated
Quantities, Tabulations, Typical Sections and Construction Plans. The
project scope, context sensitive solutions approach, outcome, and
individual responsibilities or tasks should be identified. Note: Names
of Key Personnel must be represented on relevant plan sheets.
C. At least one project should provide a good representative example of
visual quality management guidance and supporting illustrations.

III. Proof of Professional


Certification/Licensure

A. Provide a current copy of applicable Professional Certification /


Licensure for each certified / registered / licensed individual.
