THE ORIGIN OF OLD-EARTH GEOLOGY, AND ITS RAMIFICATIONS FOR LIFE IN THE
21ST CENTURY
Introduction
This is a journal article giving a brief summary, watched qualities, and watched
shortcomings of Doctor Mortenson's "The Origin of Old-Earth Geology and its Ramifications for
Life in the 21st Century". This article is not an assault on Christianity or the Christian belief
system. This paper is basically a legitimate endeavor to audit Mortenson's data gave, his theory,
and venue decided for Christian Apologetics.
Brief Overview and Main Points
The Origin of Old-Earth Geology and its Ramifications for Life in the 21st Century, by
Doctor Terry Mortenson, is a diary article that cases to be about Old Earth Geology history, and
saw results that this belief system has incurred on our society today. In reality, this article gives
little information or foundation on the Old-Earth theory. This article uses a large portion of its
content clarifying Scriptural Geology, key people of Scriptural Geology, contending the
legitimacy of the Young-Earth conviction, and shutting with an over summed up evaluation of
Old-Earth theory's effect on society.
Article Strengths
The article unmistakably distinguishes the essayist's discontent with the imperfections in
modern science, and the destruction of modern society. Specialist Mortenson gives, with
incomprehensible subtle element, the conviction of legitimacy in regards to Scriptural Geologist
speculations, and their certifications. Mortenson gave a segment, comprising of seven sections,
which examined the advancement of Scriptural Geologists, and element foundations for different
people of significance in this geographical community. This article perfectly delineated the

defects in modern science, verifiable science, and in scriptural science. Mortenson kept in touch
with, "They were truth be told pretty much as one-sided as the scriptural geologists" (Mortenson,
2003, 5/9). Mortenson delineated an imperfect arrangement of examination with all sciences that
attempted to demonstrate or negate Old-Earth creation. Every science built up a hypothesis in
light of their perspectives, and spent all their vitality attempting to demonstrate that it is genuine
as opposed to being interested in options. This article was extremely nitty gritty and enlightening
leaving brevity to the wayside.
Article Weaknesses
The article was flawed in a since that the writer let his predispositions diverge his topics
far from the purpose of the article. The creator starts in good shape talking about Old-Earth
foundation, and keeping the emphasis on the topic. Mortenson goes ahead to burn through 12
paragraphs straying into sciences outside of Old-Earth topography, and their contentions against
the Old-Earth theory. These two segments of his article were unessential, and took the article far
away topic from its unique expected heading.
Mortenson got back on track in his last paragraph expounding on consequences of the
Old-Earth theory. In any case, at the same time, he started making absurd claims that this theory
was a main consideration in the ruin of society, "the most recent 170 years in the Western world
has affirmed the scriptural geologists' most noticeably bad fears. The West is in fast good and
social decrease" (Mortenson, 2003, 6/9). This was tending to the Social Geologist's theory that
the society would dismiss the book of scriptures, and in the end rot. The possibility that today's
Western society is more awful off than it was the point at which the laws and government were
under religious oversight is ludicrous. Our creator appeared to have overlooked Christianity's

awful American history where a Christian drove society smoldered men and ladies in Salem,
tormented and directed demonstrations of genocide on Native Americans, sanctioned
prostitution, just to give some examples botches. All the cases made by the creator, while
showing great goals, have substantial counter contentions against them that he neglected to
address or recognize.
The weakest piece of this article was the writer's cases against naturalists. People that
have naturalistic convictions have contributed enormously to a good and just society, and most
have alternate points of view on their motivation in life. Numerous families in today's society
that don't impart a confidence in religion to whatever remains of despite everything us go to
work, love and accommodate their families, share in foundations, help other people, and
endeavor day by day to be "great individuals". The creator's way to deal with his theories on the
ruin of society is an impeccable case of a flawed logical strategy. It unmistakably appeared as
though he had his response to the issue before he made his hypothesis, did legitimate research, or
tried any theory. The writer could have better expressed his case in this article, in the event that
he had stayed away from his steady utilization of the elusive slant and overgeneralization false
notions. One illustration would be, "it has been the exploratory support for the dismissal of God
and His work and for a great part of the insidiousness of the most recent 150 years" (Motenson,
6/9).
Conclusion
This article appeared to have a decent start behind the data. The greater part of the data
that the creator gave was intriguing, and interesting. Tragically, the writer tumbled off topic for
the majority of the article, and made silly claims in his last area. The possibility that naturalism

and the spread of the Old-Earth philosophy are remotely mindful in the defeat of society is an
over-speculation, unverifiable, and an incorrect hypothesis, best case scenario. As I would see it,
in spite of the fact that an instructive article, this record lost its authenticity, and validity because
of the essayist's powerlessness to pass on his data in a succinct and non-embellishment way. For
a man who was anticipating adapting more about the history and advancement of the Old-Earth
theory and legitimate effects on today's society, this article was not amazing.
