AP STUDIO ART:
Course Overview
u

This Advanced Placement program in studio art is intended for


highly motivated students who are seriously interested in the
study of two dimensional art or sculpture.
Students create and submit a portfolio for possible college
credit. The AP Studio Art portfolio is a performance-based
exam.
The College Board offers three AP portfolio options: Two
Dimensional Design, Drawing, or Three Dimensional Design.

Students select ONE subject to focus on for the entire year.

The portfolio is viewed as the culminating experience in a


student's secondary visual art training.

AP STUDIO ART:

classes to review your art portfolio.

a variety of work 7-10 finished pieces and your sketchbook

Its a manageable class, but you have to love to do art!


AP Art isnt meant to be an easy A class, you have to put
in the effort and be passionate about your work.
You have to make a lot of projects in very little time. If
you slack off you will be behind.
Dont underestimate this class! Its fast paced.
Start your summer work ASAP!
This class may be the only artistically free course youll
take at Costa, so take advantage of this.
