Spanish 2
Class Contract 2016-2017
This is a binding contract between the teacher and the student. An agreement by which
the student acknowledges classroom policy and agrees to the consequences hereby. Its
intention is to create a safe and positive learning environment.
Cell Phone Policy
Students are allowed the use of their personal devices for in-class purposes. If a student is
improperly using their personal devices they will forfeit the privilege and may store their
devices in their bags or turn it in to me until the end of class.
Participation
All students are encouraged to participate in class. At times, all students will be required
to participate in in-class activities.
Questions
Students are highly encouraged to ask questions. The goal of the class is to introduce
more Spanish discussion. Students are encouraged to clarify any misunderstandings by
asking questions. Please keep this policy in mind, as it is crucial for the continual
effective learning of the student. If in doubt, ask.
Attendance
Attendance is crucial for students to learn. Curricula will build upon previous lessons. If a
student is absent several classes he or she will need to: attend a tutoring session, a
conference period and/or request notes from his or her peers or the teacher.
Bullying/Plagiarism
There is a zero tolerance policy for both bullying and plagiarism. If there is an
assignment that has been plagiarized it will receive a grade of 0 without the possibility of
redemption. Bullying prevents students from learning and discourages teamwork.
Bullying will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis and will have consequences according
to gravity.
Effort
Effort is an attempt to learn. All I ask from my students is an attempt to achieve better
and learn. A student will not always have the right answer or know how to answer
however effort is all I am asking for. Effort accounts for participation grade and the
overall direction of the class.

Respect
I agree to be respectful to my fellow students, teacher and classroom. I will be
considerate of others and work together with my peers as a team player.
Teacher Agreement
I agree to support my students in their learning of Spanish.
I agree to be available for my students outside of class for tutoring.
I agree to come prepared to teach.
I agree to provide and maintain a safe learning environment for my students.
