and GZU (the organisers), other organizations that
attended this historical and important event included

for the Visual Handicapped (ZAVH), CAMFED, BHASO,
Masvingo Rehabilitation Department, ZRP, Masvingo

Each organization was given the opportunity to present

on the type of work they do in relation to disability.
This was done for stakeholders to know how they can
network and share ideas for the benefit of PWDs.

The members present agreed to put in place a steering committee which was tasked with organizing such future meetings among other duties.
Masvingo City Council offered venues for future meetings. It was also agreed that the Registrars office should be invited to such meetings as there
are many issues that need to be addressed concerning identity documents. Stakeholders need to unite and speak with one voice on issues pertaining
to disability and there is need to discuss inclusive education and its application in Zimbabwe given the current economic situation.
The meeting was a milestone in relation to disability in Zimbabwe and it would be more beneficial if all other Provinces can create such platforms.

between the two organizations.
The SMRC interns expressed wonderment on the diversity of disabilities
that JJA deals with across the country. JJA staff took time to explain how
the programmes are monitored and coordinated from community to
national level.
The Interns interacted with people with disabilities, parents, caregivers and
community leaders. They also had an opportunity to visit Jairos Jiri
