Letter of Motivation

I have always believed in the motto keep on educating yourself as knowledge never
goes to waste. My thirst for knowledge has led me to participate in seminars ranging
from Engineering to Environment. As far as I am concerned there has always been a
special place for research and development in my life.
It is after a good deal of self-evaluation that I have decided to pursue graduate studies
in Environmental and Resource Management leading to a doctorate. This decision
followed naturally after carefully considering my academic background, the areas of my
interest, and my ultimate professional ambition, which is to pursue a research career,
either as a teaching faculty member, or in an R & D department of the industry.
With a good and prestigious school background I have successfully completed my 12
years of schooling from St. PATRICKSS HIGH SCHOOL SECUNDERABAD in 2010,
which has more than 100 years of history and secured 81% in my matriculation. My innate
strengths have been my quantitative and analytical abilities, which instilled in me a special
interest in mathematics and made me to take up mathematics, physics and chemistry as my
majors in my pre-university education wherein I got 88.7% in 2012. I took up Mechanical
Engineering, as my discipline in AURORAS SCIENTIFIC TECHNOLOGICAL & RESEARCH
ACADEMY (ASTRA) Hyderabad, TS affiliated to JAWAHARLAL NEHRU TECHNOLOGICAL
UNIVERSITY (JNTU) Hyderabad one of the premier institutes in India under TEQIP funded by
World Bank.

My undergraduate education at [AURORAS SCIENTIFIC TECHNOLOGICAL & RESEARCH

ACADEMY (ASTRA) Hyderabad, TS affiliated to JAWAHARLAL NEHRU TECHNOLOGICAL
UNIVERSITY (JNTU)], has provided me with a strong and comprehensive background in

environmental management. The curriculum included all the basic courses such as
Ecology, Environmental science, Air pollution and control, Environmental engineering,
Solid waste management and water supply and sewage treatment, Industrial waste
management. I even implemented it in my lab assignment . My inclination towards
subjects gave me a chance to undertake project assignment on MULTI PHASE INVERTER
(ECO-FRIENDLY), Which is operated using RENEWABLE ENERGY, QUALITY
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR AEROSPACE INDUSTRIES at TATA LOCKHEED MARTIN
AEROSTRUCTURE LIMITED (TLMAL), DEVELOPMENT OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF
THERMOCOUPLES USED IN JET TURBINE at DEFENCE RESEARCH &
DEVELOPMENT LABORATORY (DRDL) MINISTERY OF DEFENCE INDIA. This enabled
me to work with some of the best minds dedicated to engineering. An idea of how rewarding
and meaningful a career in research could be.

The varied mechanical engineering courses have implanted a lot of enthusiasm in me.
Attending of various environmental workshops held in other colleges during National
level Technical Festivals has helped me in understanding the practical aspects of the
course .
Besides academics, I served as the DEPARTMENT REPRESENTATIVE for mechanical
engineering in my college during (2015-2016). I was also elected as the CHAIR

PERSON for SAE COLLEGIATE CLUB (2015-2016) I have done INTERNSHIP in

MARUTHI SUZUKI RKS MOTORS, MUNGI ENGINEERS PVT.LIMITED, TATA
LOCKHEED MARTIN AEROSTRUCTURE LIMITED. I have also done my IMPLANT
TRAINING at CENTRAL INSTITUTE OF TOOL DESIGN (CITD). I am also the team
member of the basketball and Cricket Team representing our institution. I have great
curiosity to learn and a knack of implementing knowledge in real world satiations.
A research project (group) on using Fem FLUID FLOW ANALYSIS OF CENTRIFUGAL
FAN Which is published in International Journal & Magazine of Engineering,
Technology, Management and Research (IJMETMR) ISSN NO: 2348-4845, Volume
NO: 3 (2016), ISSUE NO: 6 (JUNE 2016).
I am aware that the universities in GERMANY offer a great scope for intellectual and
academic development. It is for this reason; I am applying for a Masters degree in
Environment and resource management at your distinguished university.
I am a person who believes that a particular field of study can only develop when it
deals with interdisciplinary subjects. I am very much interested in interlinking life
sciences with engineering subjects. I presented one paper in the topmost universities of
India in connection with their National and International Seminars.
A good research career can only be built above the firm foundation of a good education.
With my long term goal in mind, my immediate objective is to work towards a Ph.D. in
Environmental and Resource management.

There are two reasons why I believe that graduate study in a reputed department, such
as yours, is important for a person aspiring for a research career. Firstly, working for a
thesis under the guidance of an expert whose work can serve as a model is the most
effective method of transforming a student into a largely independent researcher making
significant original contributions. Secondly, the emphasis of graduate study on intensive
and independent study of a specialized area is an ideal way of making a student
capable of reaching the frontiers of knowledge in a subfield quickly and keeping abreast
of the latest developments
.
Lastly I would end by quoting Newton SCIENCE IS LIKE A VAST BEACH SPREAD IN
FRONT OF ME AND MY KNOWLEDGE IS JUST A SMALL PEBBLE IN THAT BEACH,
to be a more significant part of this vast beach, I consider it important to obtain my
masters degree from a university of repute such as yours. For, I believe, the means is
as important as the end.
I am convinced that my study at your Department would be meaningful and a rewarding
