I will never forget my first jam session.

I would tell you why this experience give me a philosophy of life

specifically with the jazz, the knowledge and the way to treat people,
characteristics that all successful musician would need in the scene
specifically in the jazz scene.
Its time to tell how I was in that day that I play first tune in a jam.. That
day was great; good food and I learn a new joke of one of my Friends. I
was there in a bar with just fifteen years old prepare to play Autumn
Leaves in part because Ive a transcription of a Walking and various
phrases of Cannonball Adderley. Later I founded me get closer to play
with a hesitate in my mind that says Dont do it- it seemed like going
to vomit in the stage, and for fortune I dont do it. The nightmare starts,
but starts after two choruses of the solo saxophone, I dont listen no one
in all the theme, I forget the chords and even the phrases, so my solo
wasnt good, at the same moment Im looked with my glance a solution
to my troubles in the audience, the waitress and myself but I dont found
it. The other musicians and I finish the tune with the melody. The tune
end and after that Fiasco I dont want to play more, so I put down the
upright bass, obviously I got off the stage, but I dont know what is
waiting for down stage. How may you feel a heavy atmosphere of
judgements and rejections, in that dark nightmare I found the pianist
that play with me, hoping some advice to be better for the next jam I did
go there with a intention of a good talk, but he just say that I be a
Hopeless case, that destroy all the force that I have to stay in the
place, I pay my juice to immediately leave the place, got a cab and go
home. In home, mommy was waiting for me with a mellow hug and a
dovelike question as if his son was out of home for a year or more. How
did it go in the jam?-. I told her what happen, she only says, -Discusses
with yourself how you can improve and be not just a better musician but
also a better person you need the both in this world. I did that and
remove these conclusions: First. Im not playing like me, I dont have
personality, just have few tools to play but I have my mind in the record
and not in the stage. Second and finally. If someone ask me for advice I
never refuses my knowledge to the person. That story explain my point
of view in the object of what can give me The New School for Jazz and
Contemporary Music, they can give experience, experience that will
build my personality, owing to like instrumentalist we need to give our
soul to the instrument, transform that life experience in sound, perhaps
all can transcrip a phrases but not all would sound like the original, and
discover how to transmit my musical and life knowledge. I know that the

best experiences would have in The New School. The ability of having a
true relation
between your instrument, the sound, the knowledge and the life is that
in my personal statement made a musician successful.
