Introduction

My topic is about 40 years and standing strong:


Generally Phillip Capital is a multinational broking company which is established in 1975 and
provides products and services to customers, retails and an organization. Phillip Capital is
celebrating their 40 year anniversary by facing a lot of problems and still they are strong in terms
of financial services and products. Slowly Phillip Capital captured the market with the
diversification by using technologies and provides customer satisfaction by online trading.
First 10 years Phillip Capital spent much on learning and adopting the working culture of the
organization.
Afterwards they started moving abroad and expanded their business globally.
Now a days Phillip Capital expanded their business in the market with a trading cum
clearing membership in NSE and BSE with 100% subsidiary.
Now the future plan of Phillip Capital is the dynamic plan, Smart trade plan and No profit no
brokerage.
About Mr.Lim Hua Min
I would like to introduce Mr. Lim Hua Min, who is a Executive Chairman and Founder of
Phillip Capital who did a lots of hard work to make Phillip Capital more strong in terms of
finance. There are also some problems which were faced by Mr. Lim Hua Min in Phillip capital
which was lack of advanced technologies, due to these peoples were shouting at each other
which was very bad for the organization.
Mr. Lim Hua Min has 40 years of experience by introducing the first internet stock trading
platform in Singapore. Phillip Capital main headquarter is in SINGAPORE. And also awarded
Best Retail Broker for 2 years.
Mr. Lim was appointed as a Chairman of the SES Review Committee in 1997, to make
Singapore's capital markets more globalized and more competitive. For this, he was awarded by
the Singapore Government in 1999.

About Mr. Patrick Yang


Mr. Patrick Yang is the Managing Director of Phillip Private Equity who involved in 1991 and
was having 25 years of work experience.

About Mr. Chan


Mr. Chan is a Director of Phillip Private Equity who involved in 1994 and had done 40
investments in financing companies in Singapore. He also made various relationships with local
venture companies.
About Grace Tang
She is also a Director in Phillip Private Equity. First she was a Senior Investment Analyst in 1999
and also involved in capital raising. She did deal sourcing, structuring, documentation etc.
About Mr. Linus Lim
He involved in product development and investment strategy in Phillip Capital Management
which is a part of Phillip Capital.
So, they all are the Founder and Directors of Phillip Capital which is in Singapore.

Mission
Its mission is to provide quality and innovative products and services to the customer, corporate
and investors and provide mutual relationship which is based on trust and honest.
Vision
To provide products and services in globally by using information technology and distribution
and also provide complete satisfaction to customer wit advance technologies.

Problems
While capturing the market Mr. Lim saw that the employees cannot deal with a large number of
transactions so they started shouting continuously on the phone due to insufficient training.
Afterwards they decided to move into Hong Kong which was the toughest market as comparison
to Singapore market at that time.

Competitors
ANGEL BROKING-Established in 1987. Now it is renowned stock
broking company and it is situated in 900 cities globally.

SHAREKHAN- Established in 1982. Now these years it captured a very


huge network of 1 Million to provide customer satisfaction through
their products and services.

GEOJIT BNP PARIBAS- The Companys head office is in Kochi .It not only
provides offline presence but also provides automated online trading
services.

IIFL-This company do trading through BSE and NSE .It was established
in 1995 which offer financial services to their customers.

ICICI DIRECT- It gives seamless trading, security and control to their


customers and also provides online trading in which customer can do
trading in their mobile.
So, these are the competitors of Phillip Capital.

ObjectiveThe objective of my case study is to know problem faced by the Phillip


capital and they solved the problem and also to study the products and
services of a company.
The objective of my case study is to identify the marketing strategies of my
company.
The objective of my study is to know the advantages and disadvantages of
Phillip capital and to according to this take the decisions
The objective of my study is to know full detail of my company

Business strategy

Retail investors- The business strategy of Phillip capita is to promote the


investors. As in the past seven year retail investor amount decreased by 3%
which was 10% earlier. As we know trading volumes are much lower in Indian
capital market as compared to other market globally.
Infrastructure- As Indian infrastructure is very worst as compared to outside
the country which include U.S.A, Australia, Europe etc. So, Phillip capital help
the government by providing a part of profit which is earned by the Phillip
capital.
Customer satisfaction- Business strategy is to provide customer satisfaction
through financial services and products of Phillip Capital.
Technology- As the technology becoming advanced day by day so Phillip
capital easily communicate with their client, can also provide information to
the client regarding products and services.
