Gurukul Proposal

Background
Gurukul is an ancient Vedic system of education. The term Gurukul is
composed of two words, Guru (Master) and kul (home). In the Gurukul
system of education, the pupil (shishya) resides in the Gurus home and
learns from the Guru. In a Gurukul, irrespective of the background, pupils live
together as equals and help in the day to day activities of the Gurukul. The
kids mastered all 64 vidyas or types of knowledge. Knowledge was
transmitted through the biomemory of the Guru. The result was that kids
very spiritually grounded and also intellectually evolved and highly
intelligent.
Gurukul in the Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam
The Bengaluru Adheenam has a full fledged Gurukul, where more than
hundred children live and study. In addition, there are several weekend
Gurukuls (Bal Vidyalaya) around the world with plans of expanding it to a full
fledged residential Gurukul.
Past Accomplishments
The Gurukul system in the Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam is highly evolved and
includes a residential school where students live and learn under the direct
guidance of Paramahamsa Nithyananda. In the Gurukul kids up to grade XII
are enrolled.
School based learning of various subjects such as Math, Science,
Languages (English, Hindi, Sanskrit), Geography, History etc. At least
50% of the Gurukul students are 1 to 3 years ahead of their grades, and
answer their X board exams before the age of 15 years.
The engagement in activities such as Vedic chanting and using third eye
powers makes the kids highly intelligent. 35% of the kids have IQ score
above 130 gifted category as per SLOSSON IQ score.
Other than basic school education, children also learn several traditional
arts such as Yoga, pole yoga (mallakhamba), rope yoga, dhanur vidya
(archery), meditation, traditional gym (akhada), meditation, Vedic
chanting, traditional Vedic performing arts such as dance and music,
temple based activities such as puja, alankaram, abhishekam etc.
Kids debate and and explore various truths reveled by our Guru
Paramahamsa Nithyananda.
Gurukul kids counsel even adults giving ancient Vedic spiritual solutions
for everyday problems. The kids have their own TV show and maintain
their own website.

Gurukul kids conduct their own Hindu rituals such as Poojas, homas,
abhishekam and alankar.
Kids explore musical instruments sometimes on their own. They update
their skills by tuning into the Cosmos. They also learn traditional dance
such as Bharatnatyam

Future goals
In the future Swamijis goal is to expand Gurukul
To make Gurukul free for all students. Get sufficient funds to realize this
goal and for Gurukul to run smoothly.
To make the facility larger and build infrastructure to accommodate
more students. Plans are to enroll at least 10000-1 lakh students.
To make new schools in different parts of the country and world. There
are several places where there is land that belongs to the
Dhyanapeetam. And basic infrastructure exists. Plans are to use the
land and existing infrastructure and expand it to accommodate more
students.
Expand the facilities to have larger libraries with more books.
