1. OBJECTIVE
1.1 To describe in detail the procedure for operational and Cleaning of Automatic Filling
M/C.
2. SCOPE
2.1 This procedure is applicable for operational and Cleaning of Automatic Filling M/C
3. RESPONSIBILITY: Production Chemist &Technicians
4. PROCEDURE:
4.1 The GAB is an Automatic Single head tube filling Machine & sealing M/c with an
Optimum speed of 60tubes/minute.
4.2 Tube in feed:
4.3 Set cassette box as per tube size.
4.4 Set cassette in feed aluminium plate as per Diameter & Length of the tube.
4.5 Change rocker & side plate accordingly.
4.6 Replacing suitable tilter.
4.7 change pressing cone & set pressing height of tube properly.
4.8 When the machine is running in production, casstte loaded tubes should not come
more than one on the tilter. This avoids damages or breakage of the tilter.
4.9 Loading of the tube in the tube holder chain.

4.10 This tube holder chain move & stops at predetermined positions.(indexing
operation)
4.11 Tube cleaning operation.
4.12 Pressurized filtered air is used to clean/clear away foreign particles. such as dust ,etc
from the inside of the tube. The air blow from a nozzle, which is lowered, to the bottom
of the tube.
4.13 A vacuum housing is simultaneously lowered and pressed against the opened end of
the tube. This vacuum housing is connected to adust collector chamber where foreign
particles are collected.
4.14 A cam on the main shaft controls the vertical movement of tube cleaning device. The
air pressure is set by means flow controlled valve.
4.15 Registration of tube: Replace the suitable guide cone as per size part.
4.16 Place required tube under the guide cone.
4.17 Lift the lifting head of the tube registration fully.
4.18 Set height of top tube guide cone.
4.19 Set contrast mark sensor beam on the center of tube I-mark.
4.20 set mark sensor by on/off the logie device STM14.
4.21 Lower the sensed tube to the tube holder link.
4.2.2 In the tube registration device stepper motor must start after tube fully contact with
guide cone properly.

4.23 Tube Sensing device:
4.2.4Sense the tube (No tube no fill operation) for filling.
4.25 Clamp yoke in rocker arm so that , as the tube lifts the release ring, the roller connect
latch to drive arm before it start forward on the pumping stroke.Adjust the small spring
on rod so that the tension is not enough to damage the end of tube as it lifts the pump
release ring. The recommend lift for the release ring is approximately 5mm.
4.26 Filling of the product as the Tube:
4.27 The pump stroke can be adjusted within limits to compe4nsate for variations in
density of the materials being filled. To decrease on increase the tube fill move thev block
in or out respectively on pump stroke arm by turning screw after loosing the clamping
nut.Tighten this nut after making the adjustment, how much one turn of the adjusting
screw will change the tube fill can only be determined by experimenting with each
material. For large adjustments, select another hole.
4.28 Sealing,coding&Cooling of the tube:
4.29Before starting the hot air process insure the following things.1.proper air supply.2
Chilled water supply.3.Blower on position.
4.30 Set the hot air beam to suitable tube size.
4.31 Change right hot air nozzle set.
4.32 Set proper clearance to pass the tube through under the hot air jacket.
4.33 In hot air tube sealing method, heat is applied directly to the inner surface of the
tube wall that is to be melted together to form the seal.

4.34Preheated tube indexed to next station where it is simultaneously sealed & coded.
4.35 Watch the sealing pattern if necessary give the pressure by grub screw for good
sealing.
4.36 Sealed tube indexed to the trimming station where rough edges of sealed tube tail
cut off. See the trimming tube if required set proper.
4.37 In the ejection station lifting ejection pin should be set proper so that the tube lifted
entirely clear of the hol;der and is then rolled down in to the chute.
4.38 The coding station is equipped with astroke limiter to prevent damage occurring
when the machine is run without tubes.
4.39 Metal tube crimping:
4.40 The folding stations necessary to check the setting of folding tools and readjust.
Take the entire station away from the folding beam and carry out this work on a
workbench.
Check the free motion margin and parallelism between the fixed jaws(B) and the folding
roller plate(c).The play should be 0,2-0,4mm.Also check the parralesim of the jaw(b) by
using the dial test indicator.Check the motion of the holder Jaw(A).
By aligning with the set screw(G) and (H) ,make sure that the holder jaw(A),when
moving the last millimeter of its strike,is moving horizontally towards the fixed jaw
and ,when it has reached its end position is located 1 mm under the folding roller plate(C)
