Our Marines are well-oiled, tactical thinking machines. True patriots, their
motto, Semper Fidelis (Always Faithful) empowers them to feats of unwavering loyalty
to their country and its citizens. ________, a Veteran Infantry Officer and 2nd Lieutenant
in the USMC, exemplifies these traits.
_____, a decorated officer, took control of a platoon of courageous men and
safely brought each of them home alive and well. Leading my Marines into combat and
bringing them home alive was my biggest success, Says _____. I learned what it
takes to be an effective leader and how to develop an effective team. _____ patriotic
duty kept him spirited, and he vigilantly was able to master astonishing feats of success
in the military.
Once, for an anti-interrogation exercise, _____ was kept sealed in a small,
confined crate for a fortnight, his only accommodations being a few flakes of food and
water tossed at him. He kept a cool head and came out unscathed. And while many
would shudder at the thought of military service, _____ believed it to be a generally
lively position.
It was literally the best time in my life, He stated. He greatly respected his
comrades, declaring that I go to work with a bunch of the greatest people that America
has to offer. We challenged ourselves and each other to push beyond what we
perceived as our physical and mental limits. He truly believes that Veterans are some
of the most intelligent, strategic, and ultimately elite men and women in the globe.
______ was a first daunted by the idea of being responsible for the lives of his
men. Leaving the country for the first time on a combat deployment, I was wondering if
I did enough to ensure my Marines were trained well enough to survive the rigors of
combat. Soon, he grew to have more faith in himself, as well as his team.
While he may have been dismayed at first, he stressed the many benefits of
service. He was highly motivated by his philosophy of success and failure. I do not fail.
The fact that I challenge myself daily and the fact that I insist that I learn something from
every mistake I make ensures that I never fail. Every miscalculation is a lesson well
learned for ______.
______, now a US History Teacher, will be remembered for his legacy of Honor
and Courage. He has truly inspired many of his pupils. _______, a fellow student of his,
states that Mr. _____ is pretty neat, and I agree. Historically, his tactical thinking is the
foundation of the greatest leaders, our Veterans. ______ is the eponym of a Veteran.
