Subjects and Courses of Jamea Al Kauthar

Jamea Al Kauthar is a highly reputable and independent Islamic academic school


for girls at Lancaster. Accepting girl students who are above 11 years of age, the

Jamea Al Kauthar offers extensive courses for secondary school and A levels as
well as Islamic studies for a two year program. Here is a brief look at the various
courses taught in these programs.

Islamic Education
The Islamic theology courses as offered at Jamea Al Kauthar is condensed into 5
to 6 years of intensive study where the students are taught Urdu language
proficiency as well as basic tenets of Islamic knowledge. The first five years of
Islamic education is divided in the following manner:
Learners (Eadadiya)
1st Year (Oula)
2nd Year (Thaniyah)
3rd Year (Thalithah)
4th Year (Mishkaat)
5th Year (Bukhari)

During these years, lessons regarding Islamic jurisprudence, Urdu and Arabic
language efficiency, Islamic history studies are offered. The students are also
going to learn Ahaadith, Arabic grammar and study the Quran along with
commentary. Students will also specialize in Hadith Studies.
Special 2-year Islamic Studies course curriculum for the post-16s (Sanatayn)
This course is going to include advanced lessons on Tajweed, Ahaadith, Quranic
commentary, everyday Masaail, Aqaaid as well as basic Arabic.
Secondary school
At Jamea Al Kauthar, numerous subjects are offered at KS3, which include English,
Science, Mathematics, Art, ICT, History, Geography, Religious Studies, Physical
Education and Urdu. The students studying at GCSE level will need to be well
acquainted with English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, ICT, Double
Award Science, Urdu and Islamic Studies.
