Proposed Road map for the Department of civil Engineering

Targeted activity for the Period of 6th months

1. Identify reasons for the fall in pass percentage and explore remedial steps
2. Identify shortfalls in the delivery of lessons including lab and field activities
3. Identify students early in the semester to target them in attendance and
performance in tests.
4. Train students in preparation of presentation and delivering it upfront.
5. Encourage atleast 40% of students to attempt MOOC courses
6. Arrange two technical talks by experts
7. Celebration of engineers day on sep-15
8. Industrial visit for 3rd and 7th semester
9. Each faculty completes one MOOC course.

Arrange 1 FDP for civil department.
Send two more research proposals to funding agencies.
Look at some innovative methods of teaching.
Special classes for weak and lateral entry students for difficult subjects.
Conducting seminars by students.
As a practice any student remains absent for more than 2 hours continuously he
shall not be permitted to attend next class and same will be intimated to their
parents.

9. Arranging additional technical talks depending on availability of experts
10. Each staff shall publish 2-3 papers in journals or conference in 1 year.
11. Conducting Extensive survey camp.
12. Educational trip for 6th sem students.
13. Conducting workshops on select topics like GIS, Remote sensing, etc including
some aspects of attitudinal training.

REMEDIAL CLASSES FOR WEAKER STUDENTS AND DIPLOMA STUDENTS

Special classes for weak students and diploma students on every Saturday afternoon from august 1 week
for difficult subjects.
